The Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Louisiana wrote a letter to Riki Mandol informing him that his application to the Master of Science in Engineering program with a concentration in Petroleum Engineering was not successful. While Riki was qualified, admission has become highly competitive and the program could only accept a limited number of students. The Dean wished Riki the best in future endeavors.

Dear Riki,
Thank you for applying to the Graduate School at the University of Louisiana. We have
recently completed a review of your application and supporting credentials, and I write
today to inform you that we are not able to offer you admission to our Master of Science
in Engineering with a concentration in Petroleum Engineering.
Please know that this decision was not an easy one to make, but it was reached through a
thorough and thoughtful review. In making our decision, the Graduate School and the
graduate program to which you applied considered multiple criteria, including your
academic record, test scores, and letters of recommendation as well as other supporting
information that you may have provided. Admission has become increasingly
competitive, however, and some of our graduate programs are limited in the number of
students they can accept. The result is that, quite often, we are not able to admit many
well-qualified applicants.
Thank you for your interest in UL Lafayette. I wish you every success in your future
endeavors.

Sincerely,

Mary Farmer-Kaiser
Dean of the Graduate School
