Mr. Bob Frigo

Associate Director for the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement
Elon University
2999 Campus Box
Elon, NC 27244

Dear Mr. Frigo,

I am writing to express my interest in the Campus Kitchen Coordinator Position. I was excited to hear about the
opportunity and feel that my educational and professional experiences make me an excellent candidate.
Additionally, my personal strengths would be a good match for the organization, flexibility, sense of
responsibility, and dedication needed to excel in the position.

I have gained valuable experience as the Student Life Fellow for Leadership. In this capacity, I learned to
communicate professionally through facilitating leadership development workshops, presenting at national
conferences, and developing website and social media content. This experience would help me to uphold the
standards of professionalism needed to work with such a high profile program. As an alumnus and employee of
Elon University, I have cultivated strong relationships with staff, students, alumni, faculty, and community
members through various programmatic efforts. My ability to develop positive working relationships would
prove valuable while working with various constituents including Allied Churches, Aramark, Loy Farm, and
other departments. Additionally, I am strongly committed to supervising and mentoring student leaders as I
have been supervising students in the Center for Leadership for two and a half years. I have gained valuable
insight into the importance of training, motivating, guiding, and providing feedback to students. I feel that this
experience will help me to effectively work with the student leaders who run the Campus Kitchen program.
Working full-time while taking Masters classes at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, has taught
me how to balance multiple responsibilities, a skill that would be essential to working in a busy office
environment. Finally, composing masters level papers has helped me to enhance my writing skills, an ability
that would aid me drafting and developing grants for Campus Kitchen.

You will find my completed application, resume, and recommendations included in my online submission. I will
follow up to check on the status of my application within two weeks. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me at smarkham@elon.edu or (301) 538-1168. Thank you for taking the time to consider my
application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Stacey Rusterholz
