Wheelers STEM Lab

Students from all over the world will be participating in HOUR OF

CODE. For the third year, Wheeler students from Kindergarten
through Fifth will join in Celebrating Computer Science Education
Week during the month of December. It is an exciting time for
students to enjoy stretching their brains to program the computer
and see how much fun it can be.
There are activities they can work on at home on a computer, tablet,
Smartphone or no computer at all. Please feel free to join us on
http://www.code.org. There are activities for all ages.

PTA Points
So it is only a few more weeks until Winter Break, but they will be busy ones!
The PTA will again be selling Reindeergrams, so that students can give and get a special treat. Look for
flyers to be coming home soon. The PTA is also helping to celebrate our fabulous staff by watching the
classrooms during the annual Staff Luncheon. This is another service that our Room Parents help out with
and I know the staff really appreciates it.
Hopefully the LED sign will be up and running again soon, so we can get back to celebrating those
Birthdays and sharing information!
Last but not least, we have received approval from JCPS for our playground expansion! Due to the
fabulous hard work of all our Wheeler Families, we will be installing the largest piece of playground
equipment first! We are ordering the playground piece this month, so now we are just at the mercy of
Mother Nature. It will be so exciting to see the reaction of all the students to the new playground. Of
course we are continuing to fundraise and seek donations to finish off the playground expansion as soon
as possible.

HELPING HANDS
Our RAK (Random Acts of Kindness)
group has decided to reach out our
helping hands to those in need this
month. We would like everyone to
join us in this random act of
kindness. We will be collecting the
following:
1. Dare to Care Food Drive
Canned goods, boxed food, mac &
cheese, pasta, and peanut butter.
(No glass items please)
2. Care for Kids (Home of the
Innocents)
New or gently used clothing and
shoes (all sizes)
Huggable Friends (New stuffed
animals)
We will be collecting these items for
the next two weeks. All items need
to be turned in by Monday,
December 14th. The class that turns
in the most items will get a pizza
party. Thank you in advance for
your generosity.
