Coordinated and ran two Scholastic Book Fairs a year with an increase in
sales from $2K to $8K per fair in 2 years.
Chaired committee for Read across America Day and multiple author visits.
Designed and implemented a school/community-wide reading program that
increased reading participation from 46% to 67% by using prize incentives
such as professional basketball tickets, new bike and lunch with the
principal, for instance.
Technology and Communication
Published a monthly Parent and Staff Newsletter as well as active on

Created and maintained a blog titled Tales of a Displaced Librarian
Encouraged the use of instructional technology to engage students and to
improve learning, providing 24/7 access to digital information resources for
the entire learning community.
Formed Professional Learning Community for School Librarians to plan and
implement meaningful experiences that would promote a love of reading,
effective technology lessons and lifelong learning.
Leadership
Selected to participate on the Strategic Planning Committee with the

International Schools vision, mission, core values and strategic objectives

Cotopaxis School Accreditation.
Created and coordinated Academia Cotopaxi Literacy Committee wit h
highly popular Literacy Week resulting in a Literacy Evening with 200+
parents and students in attendance.
Selected as Teacher Representative for Parent Teacher Organization for
two years with numerous successful school-wide activities such as a Fun
Run, Bingo Night, and Lunar New Year celebration.
