Quantity Calculation of LPG

This document provides an example of calculating the quantity of liquid propane gas (LPG) in a storage tank. It details the temperature and pressure measurements, liquid and vapor volumes, composition of the LPG, and calculations to determine the mass of liquid, vapor, and total quantity of LPG in the tank using three different measurement methods. The mass of liquid was calculated as between 4.3 and 4.4 million kg, vapor mass as 1,109 kg, and total mass using each method between 4.3 and 4.4 million kg.

Vapour Mass = vapour volume x vapour density (both at the same temperature)
Vapour density has to be calculated based on the ideal gas law.
The Mole mass of the mixture is calculated based on the weighted average (see
composition of the liquid phase) of the Mole masses of each compound.

= 3.3637 Kg / m
Vapour Mass

= 329.610 m x 3.3637 Kg / m
= 1 109 Kg
