Systolic
- pressure during ventricular contraction
(systole) as
the heart pumps blood into the aorta. It is the
higher of the two pressure measurements.
Diastolic
- after systole, the ventricles relax (diastole),
arterial pressure declines and the heart refills
with blood, the lowest pressure reached during
ventricular relaxation represents the diastolic
blood pressure.

What is Oscillometry ?
Finding the blood pressure by sensing the
magnitude of oscillations caused by the blood as it
begins to flow again into the arm.
