Scope: Sampling of Paddy, in process

rice products and finished products


against laid down specifications for acceptance for export.

Procedure:
(A) Sampling of Paddy:
Before unloading the paddy material first sampling is carried out from 30 to
40% outer periphery of laden truck randomly and about 10Kg sample
randomly collected and mixed thoroughly for homogeneity. Out of 10 Kg
collected sample, ----- gm is taken for testing against the specification as
annexed in Annexure I. If the result is found satisfactory, it can be
forwarded for further stacking. If specification is deviated the paddy is
rejected and Rejection note released to supplier. If the test report of first
sampling is satisfactory then before sending the paddy to drier sample is
drawn from all the bags (100%) and about ------- Kg sample collected and
sent to in house laboratory for testing it as per own specifications as
mentioned in Annexure I. If the result is satisfactory then material should
send to drier to reduce the moisture content to the desired specified level.
(B) Sampling of In-Process Products
(i) Sampling of Paddy during cleaning and Drying :
Paddy samples during cleaning process and after subjected to drying is
sampled ten and five times respectively at interval of5 and 3 mintues
respectively. About 100 gm paddy collected for testing for moisture. If
moisture level is satisfactory as per specification then paddy is sent for
further processing.
(ii) Sampling of semi processed rice at Destoning

In case the analysis result of sampled paddy and semi finished and finished
Rice during processing is found deviating from the laid down specifications
as per Annexure I then the lot/batch is segregated and re-processed. Even
after re-processing, if goods are not according to our specification, the same
is sold in the domestic market and to the Distillery.

Responsibilities:
In case of Paddy Procurement Manager, Quality Control Manager and Chief
Executive will be Responsible for Sampling, Testing and Decision making
respectively.
In case of In-process/Finished Process Quality Control Manager is responsible
for Sampling and Testing and General Manager and Chief Executive will be
responsible for decision making
