On his missionary journeys Paul started churches that were local
and autonomous.
The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) salvation is the
beginning of the Christian life.
The pastors work - perfecting saints until they reach maturity (Eph.
4:11-13).
1. Do you need a local church?
Hebrews 10:25 a believer who doesnt go to church regularly
is a disobedient Christian.
Some people dont go because:
- They have been hurt by a church
- They have been disciplined
- They have been disillusioned
2. Do you have to become a member of a local church?
The early church had a recognized membership.
- added to the church
- Church discipline
- Congregation vs. membership
- Number of widows
- Church-to-church relations
By joining the church you join others who are committed to
Christ in an atmosphere of mutual accountability.
3.Why do I need a local church?
A. You need the church for fellowship.
B. You need the church as a means for growth in the Christian
life.
C. You need the church to provide opportunities for service
(Eph. 2:10; Rom. 6:13).
D. You need the church as a source of encouragement and
challenge.
