Answer all parts of each item in COMPLETE sentences.
1. Who greeted George and Lennie at the bunkhouse? When George and Lennie arrived at the bunkhouse, an old man named Candy greeted them. 2. What unusual habits did Whitey, the former bunkhouse resident, have? The former bunkhouse resident was named Whitney. He was different than the rest of the men from the bunkhouse, in the way that he was very clean. He would ...wash his hands even after he ate. (Steinbeck 18). He also boiled and took out all of the spots in his potatoes, and tried to kill any lice, roaches, and other insects even though he didnt know whether or not there were any. 3. Whom did the boss punish because George and Lennie were late? Why? The boss gave the ...stable buck hell (Steinbeck 19) when George and Lennie were late because the stable buck was African American, and the boss took out his anger on him. 4. Why does George answer all the questions directed to Lennie? George answers all the questions directed at Lennie because he is afraid that Lennie will say something that makes them lose their job. 5. In reaction to Lennies silence, Curley first says, Let the big guy talk. (Steinbeck 25). After Lennie doesnt respond, Curley says, By Christ, hes gotta talk when hes spoke to. (Steinbeck 25). Curley doesnt like bigger guys, so he is trying to pick a fight with Lennie and finds it rude that Lennie didnt respond to him. 8. What does Curly think about George and Lennies traveling together? When the swamper says that ...Curleys pretty handy. (Steinbeck 26) he means that Curley is a good fighter. Curley likes to pick fights. 10. What uneasy feeling does George have about Curleys wife? George thinks that Curleys wife is a tramp and a tart. He also says that ...shes a rat-trap if I ever seen one. (Steinbeck 32). George tells Lennie to watch out for her, and not get involved with her, because she could put Lennie in a bad position.
