CASE 2: EDWARD MARSHALL BOEHM, INC.


1. What should the strategy of Edward Marshall Boehm be?
Strategic management consists of analysis, decision and action an
organization undertakes in order to create and sustain competitive
advantages. There are four key attributes of strategic management:

Strategy directs the organization toward overall goals and objective.


Includes multiple stakeholders in decision making.
Needs to incorporate short-term and long-term perspectives.
Recognizes trade-offs between efficiency and effectiveness.

Strategy analysis is the starting point of strategic management process.


One of strategic analysis is analysing organizational goals and objectives. The
vision for this case is To capture that special moment and setting which
conveys the character, charm, and loveliness of a bird or animal in its natural
habitat. This vision was massively inspiring, overarching, and long term.
Referring to the case, Mr Boehms passion and love towards the nature and
wildlife had driven him to create an outstanding artistic creation which could
last for the long run.
The mission is To make the world aware of Mr Boehms artistic talent,
to help world wildlife causes by creating appreciation and protection for
threatened species, and the build a continuing business that could make them
comfortably wealthy, perhaps millionaires. The mission shows that Mr.
Boehm interested in having his art recognize in the art work, support nature
and wildlife in the significant way and create business to be very wealthy.
The objective strategies for Edward Marshall Boehm are:

To develop strategy to raise worlds awareness towards the creation of


porcelain sculptures.
To develop skill in creating the complex art of porcelain sculptures.
To create demand and competitive advantages in art sculpture.
To ensure the business is going concern and relevance in future
marketplace.
To appreciate the importance of nature and the value of arts.
