Music can both unite and divide people. While cultures have incorporated music into their lives for centuries, personal musical preferences often cause disagreements and conflict. However, music also brings people together across borders and unites them in celebrating freedom and national pride. Ultimately, music has the power to both divide through differences of opinion, but also unite large groups worldwide through its universal language.

Does music divide or unite People?
Cultures around the world since the beginning of time have
appreciated, enjoyed, and incorporated some form of music in their everyday lives. However, one man's music can often be another man's noise, and vice versa. Music in some ways divide people. Arguments on the internet such as: Lil Wayne or Lil John? 5 Seconds of Summer or One Direction? Eminem or Drake? All of these things cause conflict on whatever scale between friends, family, strangers ad acquaintances alike. Wherever music is there will always be disagreements thats the nature of it, this is because wherever music is there will be people too and people will always have different opinions. It is not music that divides people but the judgment surrounding it. So if it divides us, it can surely unite Music unites people across the globe. It brings people together. For example the song Wavin Flag by a Somalia-Canadian artist Knaan wrote this song for Somalia and aspirations of its people for freedom. This song unifies lots of people all around the world in term of freedom and love for their country. As an old famous singer Stevie Wonder said Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand. So does it unite us or divide us? My answer to the question is that it does both. Because with music you can play the moments, pause the memories, stop the pain and rewind the happiness.
