Anticipatory
Set

Objective /
Purpose

Introduce the story and make predictions about the title


and cover.
Go over the vocabulary words being introduced in this
story.
Review was an informational text is.
Students will be able to know what are habitats.
Students will able to pair up animals that work in teams.
Students will have more information about animals and
their life style.

Instructional
Input

Teacher will have illustrations of animals in front of the


class.
Students will each get a picture at the end of the story (two
different animals and two habitats)
Teacher will pause and ask questions-what animals were
covered? What did they do as a team? How does teamwork
benefit them?

Modeling

When story is done, instructor will ask for two volunteers.


Teacher will have one animal; another animal is given to
the student. Students will answer how these two animals
work as a team.
The habitat picture will be given to the other volunteer and
students will answer which animal lives in this habitat and
how does this living space keeps them safe.

Students will each get a picture scattered- (two different


animals and a two different habitats) and they have to find
their group around the classroom.

Guided
Practice

Once they found their group, they will discuss their animals
and habitats and each group will explain to the class:
What each animal does to help one another?
What habitat belongs to which animal and how does that
keep them safe?
On a blank paper draw an animal that caught your
attention from the informational text. Include their habitat
and the animal that it pairs up with to keep safe.
Write 3-4 sentences about your drawing. Be ready to show
your group.
