Start Mode
Choose start > Programs > HUAWEI Local Maintenance Terminal > Local Maintenance
Terminal.
Interface
The interface of the LMT is composed of the system menu, tool bar, navigation window, output
window, client window, and status bar. The client window provides the MML command link
client, device panel, and tracing window.
Figure 1-1 shows the interface of the LMT when the MML command line client is displayed in
the client window.

Choose start > Programs > HUAWEI Local Maintenance Terminal > FTP Client .
NOTE
The SRU serves as an FTP server when the FTP client backs up data. Run ACT FTPSVR to start the FTP
server of the GGSN9811 before using the FTP function.

Window
The window of the FTP client comprises the menu bar, toolbar, server input area, Local Folder
List, Local File List, Server List, and Connection tips. Refer to Figure 1-2.

Boot Mode
The FTP server automatically starts when the local maintenance terminal (LMT) starts.

is displayed in the taskbar of the LMT window.

Figure 1-3 shows the parameter configuration of the FTP server. Table 1-1 lists the parameter
settings.

Two modes are available to start the LMT service manager.

Choose start > Programs > HUAWEI Local Maintenance Terminal > LMT Service
Manager.
After the LMT software is installed, the LMT service manager automatically starts when
the computer on which the LMT software is installed starts.
Window
After the LMT service manager starts, the system icon
window. Right-click . Then, you can choose shortcut menu Start to start the LMT service
manager and choose shortcut menu Stop to shut down the LMT service manager. Figure 1-4
shows LMT Service Manager.

NOTE
LMT Server is the process module of the LMT server. The client communicates with the process module
through the CORBA interface. In addition, the client is connected to the SRU through the CORBA interface.
You can connect the LMT with the server or disconnect the LMT from the server through the
LMT service manager in two ways.

Click LMT Server. You can choose shortcut menu Start to set the status to Started. In
addition, you can choose shortcut menu Stop to set the status to Stopped.
You can choose Operation > Start to set the status to Started. In addition, you can
choose Operation > Stop to set the status to Stopped.
In the LMT service manager, when the status of the LMT server is Stopped, the following
problems may arise:
l
If the operator logs in to the LMT, the LMT is disconnected from the LMT server soon.
Right-click LMT Server. Then, you can choose shortcut Started or Stopped to set the
communication between the LMT and the server.

You can start the trace viewer in three ways.

Choose start > Programs > HUAWEI Local Maintenance Terminal > Trace
Viewer.

The trace viewer window comprises the system menu, toolbar, and pane for browsing the trace
message. Refer to Figure 1-5.
