3. Communicating the way to avoid the danger of
viruses such as influenza, AIDS, bird flu and
others.
Alocation times : 1 x 45 Minutes

B. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Students are able to identifying dagerous virus and harmful viruses
2. Students are able to explaining the role of beneficial and harmful viruses
3. Students are able to communicate how to avoid the danger of viruses such
as influenza, AIDS and others.

C. MATERIALS
The presence of the virus has been linked with various kinds of diseases.
Viruses are also harmful because it can threaten human food supply through
infections in farm animals and crops. Viruses useful in the manufacture of
vaccines. Development of vaccines can prevent a fatal infection while lowering
mortality rates. Vaccine given to someone (vaccinated), the virus that has died or
has in fact weakens contained therein are still able to stimulate the host to form
antibodies that protect the body against disease caused by a virus. Vaccine for one
type of specific diseases, eg polio vaccine effective for the diseases of polio and
smallpox vaccine for smallpox.
In general, the virus is harmful to human life. But of the many viruses that
are harmful, there is also a virus that can be profitable life. Here is the role of the
virus. Among them To prevent Virulence, to produce antibiotics.
Role of Viruses:
Human disadvantage viruses: influenza, HIV, which causes AIDS, Avian Flu and
others.
The disadvantage of Animal Viruses:
Polyoma: menyebablan tumors in animals
H5N1: Avian Influenza causes
NCDs: cause Tatelo in chickens
FMD: causes disease affecting foot and mouth in animals
The disadvantage of Plant Viruses
TMV: yellow spots on leaves of tobacco
CPVD: The disease that attacks citrus plants, filter vessels
PMV: yellow blotch disease on potato leaves
Examples of prevention of influenza disease that is consuming fruits and
vegetables is sufficient. Exercise regularly. Diligent hand washing because the
virus can be transmitted with the saliva when people cough, sneeze, or speak. And
last is istrahat with sufficient and consuming drugs that can reduce the symptoms
of illness that may arise.
