Mark matching points (where seam lines
intersect) on fabric. To set in seams, join
angled pieces by aligning matching points. Fabric used: white and blue prints – Dimples by Gail Kessler for Andover Fabrics;
Start and stop sewing at points; backstitch. pink print – Many Eyes Looking by Museum of International Folk Art for Andover

1. Pin together a print diamond and a print


reversed diamond (Diagram 1), carefully
aligning seam allowances and matching
points. Sew together to make a diamond
pair; finger-press seam toward darker print. Diagram 1 Diagram 2

2. Pin short edge of white print triangle to one


short edge of diamond pair (Diagram 2). Sew
from inner to outer corner. Pin remaining
short edge of triangle to adjacent diamond.
Stitch as before to make a star point unit.
Press seams toward diamonds.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make four star
point units total. Diagram 4

4. Join two star point units (Diagram 3). Set


a white print square into corner to make a

horizontal rows (Diagram 1).

2. Sew together squares in each row. Press Fabric used: green print – Marbleous! by Robert Kaufman Fabrics;
blue print – Fusions by Robert Kaufman Fabrics
seams toward blue print squares. Then
join rows to make a Nine-Patch unit
(Diagram 2). Press seams in one direction.
The Nine-Patch unit should be 61⁄2" square
including seam allowances.

rectangle unit (Diagram 3). Press seam
toward blue print square. Repeat to make
four rectangle units total.

4. Place a rectangle unit along top edge of


Nine-Patch unit. Sew together, stopping 1"
from top left corner (Diagram 4). Press seam

5. Sew a second rectangle unit to right-hand
