Analysis Of Teaser Trailer For Taken

Here are the opening titles for the trailer which are 20th Century Fox and Europa . The audience can tell straight away that the teaser trailer could be a high budget film due to the prolific status that 20th Century Fox hold.

In this screen shot we can see Liam Neeson Holding a present which is gift wrapt. This could suggest that it is his daughters birthday and also the strong bond between the father and daughter moreover the fact that Liam Neeson is waering a suit and has car could imply that he is quite weathly and is doing quite good for himself. In addition the first word we hear is Dad which gives the audience a clear indication to who the present is for.

The lighting in this screenshot is very bright as it shows love and hapiness also the mise-en-scene such as the present in his hand could suggest the strong relationship that they have built. The music is really harmonic which sounds smooth and peaceful.

Here you can see a medium shot of the close bond that the father and daughter share which gives the audience a good idea of how strong their bond is.

In this screen shot we can see that the two are in a restaurant due to the background also the over the shoulder shot is really effective as the audience can see what he sees.

Here we can see a medium shot of the mum really happy at the terminal also we can see in the background that there are different type of people which gives a clear indication that they are in terminal and we can also tell that she is another main character introduced early in the trailer.

Here we can see a two shot of the mother and father also the father is taking a picture with a quite distinctive kodak camera. The lighting is once again quite bright and still very up beat with the harmoic music in the background.

In this screenshot we can see a pov shot used to show the father taking a picture also the daughter is with her freind which shows another character introduced. Also the background shows that they in a terminal with security as we can see a security guard in the background.

Here we have an establishing shot of Paris as it is the place where the daughter and her freind is going also contrast is very high which once again shows the bright colours to make it look like a happy scene.

As the picture is taken the flash noise switches to 20th Century Fox Presents which is a high budget film industry based in America.

As the scene switches the harmonic music stops and an instant laoud drumb noise kicks in which creates suspence as the phone starts ringing.

Here we have a montage of the father and daughter holding a converstation as the phone ringing was the daughters father however something does not seem right as the music is quite serious.

Here we can see montage a mysterious close up of a footstep and in the other part we can see the daughters freind dancing which leaves a sense od suspene as the music is very serious.

In this screenshot we can see another montage however we can see a reaction shot of the daughter as she has seen her freind being abducted by unknown people.

Point of view shot shows us what the daughter can see which helps us to understand whats going on better and we can see two people in blacking forcefully taking the daughters freind.

Here we can see a close up shot of the gadgets that the fathers has which seems to be a voice recorder also we can see the daughter very anxious and scared whilst the music makes the scene more intense.

Close up shot of the daughter under the bed shows that she is extremly frightend and the deep voice of the father shows that he is powerful and commanding.

In this montage we can see the victim, hero and villain also we can see that villain is disguised and very discrete however we can see the daughter very scared and the father quite composed.

The reaction shot shows her screaming DADDY on the phone as she has been abducted by unknown people and very scared.

Close up of the speaker where we can hear deep breaths of the abductor who does npt give any information away so he is still very secretive.

Close up of the abductors mouth creates suspense and it is a quick glimpse which we can see for less than a second which keeps the characters identity a secret for now.

Close up of someone being tortured also in the background we can hear a piano which makes the trailer more calm and composed.

Reaction shot of her face shows the seriousness of the situation as she is ver worried.

Close up shot of the father threatening the abductor who is one the phone this could suggest that he is on the verge to save his daughter.

Reaction shot of someone being tortured which is quite intense however them music is still composed.

Medium shot of car bursting through wall shows intense action which shows that this is a thriller. Also the music is still very calm.

Two shot of the father beating up someone in the car which is quite ruthless yet extremly action packed.

Close up shot of the father looking serious as he is in search for his daughter also the costume he is wearing makes he look more serious and also this builds up more action. Moreover the music tempo is gradually raising up

Here we see the fathers daughter who has been abducted as she looks very different also the scene is quite dark and she is wearing different cloths to make her seem more appealing.

The newspaper makes him seem very descrete as if he was following someone also the medium shot him in black and white.

Close up shot of the mother and father which shows the mother very scared for her daughter and the father stressed as they recieved information that Liam Nesson has got 96 hours to save his daughter which creates a more tense vibe.

Fast paced panning of the father running create more tension as he the audience feel as if time is running out for him also the fact he is wearing a suit makes hi mseem more superior.

Here we can see the father with a gun in his hand which makes the scene more more intense as he demanding to find out where his daughter is however the person he is aiming at kept a secret.

Here we can see a man jumping of a bridge which creates tension and also it creates suspence.

Point of view shot of the father pointing the gun at someone who is kept quite mysterious also this creates action.

Here we can see a low angle shot of what seems to be a gun battle as their bullets pierced through the car also these are the key element for a thriller.

High angle shot of the explosion shows a lot of fast paced action which makes the film a action packed thriller.

Another close up shot of the daughter who is very frightend is towards the end of the trailer and lighting is much more brighter.

Here we are drawn back to the begining where it all started as the unknown man says good luck and hangs up which keeps the audeince wanting to watch more.
