Introduction
In an industry during certain hazards it will be very difficult to monitor the parameter through wires and analog devices such as transducers. To overcome this problem we use wireless device to monitor the parameters so that we can take certain steps even in worst case. The fundamental aim of this project is to develop an embedded system to design a wireless weather monitoring system which enables to monitor the weather parameter in an industry or anywhere by using Zigbee technology and display the parameter on the PCs screen using visual basic.

Zigbee module
ZigBee is a specification for a suite of high level communication protocols using small, low-power digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard for Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Networks (LRWPANs), such as wireless light switches with lamps, electrical meters with in-home-displays, consumer electronics equipment via short-range radio needing low rates of data transfer. The technology defined by the ZigBee specification is intended to be simpler and less expensive than other WPANs, such as Bluetooth. ZigBee is targeted at radio-frequency (RF) applications that require a low data rate, long battery life, and secure 7 networking.
Specifications of zigbee
It operates over a frequency range of 2.483Ghz Data rate is over 250kbps
Advantages of zigbee:
Features of AT89S52
Operating range : 4 to 5.5 v. Fully static operation : 0 to 33mhz. Three level program memory lock. 32 programmable I/O lines. Three 16 bit timers counters. Eight interrupt sources. Low power idle and power down modes . Interrupt recovery from power-down mode.

MAX 232
The MAX232 is an integrated circuit that converts signals from an RS-232 serial port to signals suitable for use in TTL compatible digital logic circuits.

Weather sensors
LM35: The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature sensors, whose output voltage is linearly proportional to the Celsius (Centigrade) temperature. LM35 draws only 60 A from its supply, it has very low self-heating, less than 0.1rC in still air.
12
LIGHT DEPENDENT RESISTOR: Light dependent resistor (LDR) is a resistor whose resistance decreases with increasing incident light intensity.
13
Working:
y The system contains two parts one is transmitter part and the
other one is receiver part. y The transmitter part consists of weather sensors, microcontroller and zigbee. y The receiver part consists of a PC interfaced with Zigbee through PC serial port. y Here we monitor light intensity and temperature with the help of respective sensors. y The data from the sensors are collected by the Microcontroller from the sensors and the data is transmitted to the receiver section through Zigbee module. y All the parameters are viewed in the system with the help of HyperTerminal option in the receiver side.

This project uses regulated 5V,1A power supply. 7805 Three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage
regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the AC output of 230/12V Step down transformer.

16
ADVANTAGES
Weather can be monitored from remote place. Detection of temperature conditions will help us to
avoid damages.
17
Future scope
The zigbee technology can be widely used for home and industrial automation. It lead to the cheap wireless technology, so that it can be widely used for low rate data transfer.
18
Conclusion
The zigbee based wireless weather station monitoring system is used to study parameters such as light intensity and temperature at different places by using zigbee transmitter and zigbee receiver. Working of zigbee module is studied and interfacing of zigbee to AT89S52 is done for application development. Hence in this project we can monitor light intensity and temperature.
