    Field Mobility
    - Demonstrations erupted in all Syrian governorates under the slogan of" If the rulers let down us, where are the peoples?"(1)(2) - Evening demonstrations erupted in many regions with Damascus and its countryside.(2) the governmental army' officers and soldiers to defect and join the FSA's ranks.(2)

    Statistics June 21st death toll: 128

    Internal Situation
    - Mohamed El-Said, member of the Revolutionary Command Council in Damascus Suburb, said that not less than 70 people were martyred within 5 days' time in Douma, of whom 24 were martyred yesterday. He also noted that about 150,000 of the total number of the population of Douma left it, adding that the medical conditions in the city is very bad.(1) - Rami Abdul-Rahman, director of the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said" Yesterday was one of the most bloody days since ceasefire came into effect, and also was one of the most bloody days since the eruption of the anti-regime protests."(2)(7) - The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) announced that an officer who had the rank of brigadier was killed in Damascus after his car was exploded by an explosive device, accusing the terrorist groups of carrying out such an operation.(1)

    Military Situation
    - The Syrian military pilot Col. Hassan Mirei alHamadeh landed in his jet (Russian-made MiG-21) in Jordan yesterday and had requested political asylum from the Jordanian authorities.(1)(2)(3)(4)(6)(7) - The Syrian army continued bombing many districts in the middle of Homs city in spite of the agreement previously reached between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Al-Assad's battalions on a temporary truce with a view to allowing the aid workers to evacuate the sick and injured people from the city.(3) - Abdul Rahman Al-Horani, the activist from Daraa, announced that Inkhil city is currently facing an intensified shelling and also the spread of the snipers in the city in spite of the fact that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) is not deployed in the city, which led to the destruction of many houses and also claimed the lives of 4 persons from one family, and three others from another family.(1)(7) - The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that Syrian fighters stormed the northwestern side of the country and killed 20 soldiers at least and also detained many elements affiliated to the army, including an officer who had the rank of colonel. In addition, those fighters seized machine guns and missiles.(1) - The regime's troops bombed Al-Shahil village using helicopters, amid an exodus movement of the inhabitants of that village. In addition, the tanks headed for the aforementioned village as a prelude to storming it.(1) - The regime's forces shelled mourners in Inkhil, Daraa, which led to the martyrdom of 18 people.(2) - Four officers (who are brothers) - two of them held the rank of brigadier and the two others had the rank of colonel- announced that they had defected from the governmental army and joined the Free Syrian Army (FSA).     Political Mobility
    - The Syrian National Council (SNC) announced concluding an agreement between the SNC's head and the commander of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on improving coordination and joint work between the two parties. It also referred to the necessity to back the FSA to be able to face the terrible crimes and massacres committed by the Assad regime.(1) - The Syrian National Council (SNC) expressed "Its appreciation of Jordan's decision on granting the political asylum to the pilot who defected from the Syrian governmental air forces and chose to be with his people and its revolution, rejecting to be a tool of killing and destruction."(2) - Burhan Ghalioun, ex-leader and current political bureau chief of the Syrian National Council (SNC), condemned the great powers' dealing with the Syrian crisis as if the current problem is how to save the life of one of the biggest criminals worldwide, not how to save the Syrian people.(1)

    - Rami Abdul-Rahman, director of the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that the number of the martyrs since the eruption of the revolution soared to hit 10,480 civilians, 3,716 from the governmental troops and 830 persons affiliated to the Free Syrian Army, noting that killing is escalating.

He also added "This is just one of countless instances where Syrians, including members of the security forces, have rejected the horrific actions of the Assad regime, and it certainly will not be the last."(1)(4) - The Pentagon Press Secretary George Little expressed his happiness at the defection of the Syrian pilot, calling on the Syrian armed forces' elements to defect.(3) - French sources said that the most important problem that hinders reaching an understanding with the Russian side is that it wants to clearly know the nature of the next regime that would replace Al-Assad, let alone, the Russian side wants to have guarantees for preserving its interests in Syria and the whole region in general.(1) - Pope Benedict XVI warned that the current conflict in Syria would extend to the whole region, calling on the international community to do its utmost to save Syria from violence currently used there.(2) - Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon called for "massive intervention" by the international community in Syria to prevent the conflict there engulfing neighbors Lebanon and Iraq. "We need a whole package: massive intervention from the international community on the Bosnian model," Ayalon said.(4) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that any peace plan on Syria implies the idea of Al-Assad's abdication before stopping violence and having a new political process for solving the crisis in Syria "would be inapplicable".(1)(3)(4) - Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Lukashevich announced that the Russian ship "MV Alaed"- that was forced to come back to Russia- is carrying helicopters and that it will raise the Russian flag in order to avoid a possible detention of the ship during its way to Syria.(1)(2)(3)(6)

    - The Secretary-General of the Islamic Cooperation Organization Professor Akmal Al Deen Ehsan Ougli expressed his sorrow at the international community's failure to find a solution to the current bloody incidents in Syria, stressing the importance of taking a collective action to find a formula that would fulfill the Syrian people's ambitions and put an end to its sufferings.(2)

    Political Stances Syria


    - The Syrian Defense Ministry said discussions are under way with Jordan for the return of the aircraft, describing that defected pilot as " a fugitive from the service, a traitor to his country and to his military honor."

    - Jordanian minister of state for information and communications Sameh Al-Maita announced that the cabinet granted the Syrian pilot- who flew to the kingdom- the political asylum at the Syrian pilot's request, noting that Jordan dealt with the Syrian pilot's request as per Geneva Conventions.(1)(6)(7) - Russia must stop providing military supplies to Syria, Arab League's deputy secretary general Ahmed Bin Hilli said. He also added "Any assistance to violence must be ceased because when you supply military equipment, you help kill people. This must stop."(2)(3)

    International
    - The USA denied that it is ready- with Britain- to grant the Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad a safe road or even a clemency, in case he abdicated within the framework of an agreement on stimulating a political transition process in Syria.(2) - The U.S. Department of State has authorized $15 million in nonlethal aid, like medical supplies and communi-
