Internal Situation
- Mohamed El-Said, member of the Revolutionary Command Council in Damascus Suburb, said that not less than 70 people were martyred within 5 days' time in Douma, of whom 24 were martyred yesterday. He also noted that about 150,000 of the total number of the population of Douma left it, adding that the medical conditions in the city is very bad.(1) - Rami Abdul-Rahman, director of the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said" Yesterday was one of the most bloody days since ceasefire came into effect, and also was one of the most bloody days since the eruption of the anti-regime protests."(2)(7) - The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) announced that an officer who had the rank of brigadier was killed in Damascus after his car was exploded by an explosive device, accusing the terrorist groups of carrying out such an operation.(1)
Military Situation
- The Syrian military pilot Col. Hassan Mirei alHamadeh landed in his jet (Russian-made MiG-21) in Jordan yesterday and had requested political asylum from the Jordanian authorities.(1)(2)(3)(4)(6)(7) - The Syrian army continued bombing many districts in the middle of Homs city in spite of the agreement previously reached between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Al-Assad's battalions on a temporary truce with a view to allowing the aid workers to evacuate the sick and injured people from the city.(3) - Abdul Rahman Al-Horani, the activist from Daraa, announced that Inkhil city is currently facing an intensified shelling and also the spread of the snipers in the city in spite of the fact that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) is not deployed in the city, which led to the destruction of many houses and also claimed the lives of 4 persons from one family, and three others from another family.(1)(7) - The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that Syrian fighters stormed the northwestern side of the country and killed 20 soldiers at least and also detained many elements affiliated to the army, including an officer who had the rank of colonel. In addition, those fighters seized machine guns and missiles.(1) - The regime's troops bombed Al-Shahil village using helicopters, amid an exodus movement of the inhabitants of that village. Political Mobility
- The Syrian National Council (SNC) announced concluding an agreement between the SNC's head and the commander of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on improving coordination and joint work between the two parties.
