Instructions to complete Fun in the Sun necklace: Tip

The necklace is made of six strands that are strung with the same sequence except the central blue section. Each successively lower strand is slightly longer than the previous strand. The first three strands are connected with a set of spacer bars, and the second three strands are connected with a second set of spacer bars. Imagine that the six strands are numbered from 1 6, from top to bottom. The six strands will be crimped onto the five-strand tube bar clasp by attaching strands 3 and 4 to the same middle loop. Imagine that the five tube bar clasp loops are numbered from 1 5, and the three holes in the spacer bars are numbered from 1 3.
Step 1 Using wire cutters, cut the beading wire into the following lengths: 3 28 lengths 3 30 lengths Step 2 Place one crimp bead and loop 1 on one side of the 5-strand tube bar clasp onto a 28-inch length of beading wire. Pass the wire back through the crimp bead, and crimp the crimp bead (see Crimping Technique). Step 3 Cover the crimp bead with a crimp bead cover (see Crimp Bead Covers Technique), and trim excess wire with wire cutters. Step 4 String these beads in the following sequence onto the beading wire: Strand 1: 30 size 8 transparent ivory AB seed beads 5 4mm Blue Zircon bicone beads 24 size 8 opaque sun yellow seed beads 5 4mm Chrysolite Opal bicone beads hole 1 of spacer bar 1 19 size 8 pink lined transparent rose seed beads hole 1 of spacer bar 2 3 4mm Sunflower bicone beads 10 size 8 transparent ivory AB seed beads hole 1 of spacer bar 3 18 size 8 silver lined opal pale mint green seed beads 55 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads 18 size 8 silver lined opal pale mint green seed beads hole 1 of spacer bar 4 10 size 8 transparent ivory AB seed beads 3 4mm Sunflower bicone beads hole 1 of spacer bar 5 19 size 8 pink lined transparent rose seed beads hole 1 of spacer bar 6 5 4mm Chrysolite Opal bicone beads 24 size 8 opaque sun yellow seed beads 5 4mm Blue Zircon bicone beads 30 size 8 transparent ivory AB seed beads Step 5 String one crimp bead and the corresponding loop on the second side of the tube bar clasp. Pass the wire back through the crimp bead, and crimp the crimp bead. Cover the crimp with a crimp bead cover, and trim excess wire with wire cutters. Step 4 For strands 2 and 3, repeat Steps 2 5, attaching the beading wires to loops 2 and 3 on the tube bar clasp and using holes 2 and 3 of the spacer bars, and stringing the following exception shown in boldface in Step 4: Strand 2: 60 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads Strand 3: 65 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads Step 5 For strands 4 6, repeat Steps 2 5 using 30-inch lengths of beading wire. Attach beading wire 4 to loop 3, beading wire 5 to loop 4 and beading wire 6 to loop 5 on the tube bar clasp. Use six more spacer bars. String the same sequence with the following exception shown in boldface in Step 4: Strand 4: 70 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads Strand 5: 75 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads Strand 6: 80 size 8 light blue lined transparent green seed beads
