1. Name: Write your name in CAPITAL letters as given in the SSC/ Matriculation Certificate. One box should be left blank between two parts of the name. In case, the name is long, add boxes. Address: Please write your mailing address legibly in three different places. All communications will be sent to the mailing address given in the first and last page of the application form. If you are claiming any reservation, you should enclose a certificate from a Competent Authority. a. Candidates claiming reservation under the PWD Category (Persons with Different Abilities) i.e., Visually/Physically Challenged, should enclose a copy of the medical certificate from a government Civil Surgeon clearly indicating the percentage of disability. b. The University is in the process of developing necessary infrastructure for Visually Challenged students in foreign languages. Therefore, it will not be possible for the University to admit Visually Challenged candidates who need Readers/Scribes assistance in foreign

languages during 2012-13. However, other candidates under PWD category can apply to these programmes. Reservation will be as per GOI rules. c. Candidates claiming reservation under the Displaced Kashmiri Migrants category should enclose a copy of the certificate from a Competent Authority. Candidates using downloaded forms should enclose a DD for Rs.500 (General candidates) (Rs.250 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) drawn in favour of Registrar, EFL University payable at Hyderabad. If they wish to apply to more than one Campus or Programme, a DD for Rs.50 for each additional form should be enclosed. Please send separate applications for each Programme and Campus. Choice of Programme Code: Each programme has been given a two-digit code number. Include the correct code number of the programme at the top of the application form as well. You will be required to take the entrance test for every Programme you apply for. If the two tests you wish to write are both scheduled for the same session, you must decide which one you wish to take. If, however, the two tests are scheduled in two separate sessions, you can take the tests in any Centre of your choice, provided we hold the test there. All efforts will be made to follow the announced schedule. However, changes are possible in case of civil disturbance or natural calamities. 11. Choice of Test Centre: Give three options in order of preference. If the minimum number of candidates do not register for a centre, the centre may be cancelled, and you may be allotted another centre. If your results have not been declared before the date of your application or if you are going to appear for the qualifying examination, enclose proof of your study such as an Admit Pass/a Hall Ticket/a bona fide certificate. 14. Information on minority community is only for statistical purposes for the UGC/GOI. (Darken the circle). If yes, specify. 15-17. Furnish the information as applicable to you. (16) Please list all the programmes to which you have applied. If two tests clash, the applicant must decide which one he/she will sit for. A separate test will not be arranged for him/her. 18. (a) Those applying for M.Phil./Ph.D. should include their research topic. If shortlisted for the interview, they should bring with them 10 copies of their research proposal at the time of interview. (b) If you have been awarded a JRF by the UGC, darken the circle, include the details, and enclose a copy of the award letter. 19. The details may be given. Note that government employees have to produce permission/relieving order from their employer at the time of joining the programme. 20-21. 23. Fill the details if you have been awarded an M.Phil/M.Litt. degree by CIEFL/EFLU. For Ph.D. candidates who seek exemption from the Written Test Candidates who seek admission to a particular area of Ph.D. may be exempted from the Written Test (weight: 60%), provided they have an M.Phil./M.Litt. degree from CIEFL/EFL University in the same area. Such candidates will be directly called for the interview (weight: 40%). The decision taken by the committee concerned on the exemption shall be final. The maximum mark for exempted M.Phil./M.Litt. degree holders of CIEFL/EFL University in the written test will be 40 out of 60. However, those who wish to write the test may do so, and the marks awarded will be their final score. 24. Declaration by the applicant: It should be signed by the candidate herself/himself. If the signature is found to be fake at any time (during or after completion of the course) it will lead to the automatic cancellation of the students admission to the University, if granted/cancellation of the degree, if awarded.
25. Declaration by the Father/Mother/Guardian: This should be signed by the Father/Mother of the candidate, or by the Legal Guardian, if the parents are not alive. The signature of the Parent(s) /Legal Guardian appearing on the application form submitted by the student will be used for all purposes as the authentic one and is liable for verification by State/Central Governments or other organizations as the case may be, during the period of the studies in the University. If the signatures of the Parent(s)/ Legal Guardian are found to be fake at any time (during or after completion of the course), the discovery may lead to the automatic cancellation of admission of her/his ward, if granted/cancellation of the degree, if already awarded.
General Instructions
Permanent address of the candidates shall be the basis for considering hostel accommodation. Candidates who require hostel accommodation will be required to produce a residence or nativity certificate issued by a competent authority at the time of admission. Therefore, candidates are advised to furnish the correct permanent and present mailing address in the space provided in the Application Form. All communications will be sent to the present mailing address only. Use of mobile phones/or any electronic devices, including calculators, is strictly prohibited in the test centre. The University cannot make any arrangements for the custody of mobile phones outside the test hall. Issue of Admit Passes:
a)
The Admit Passes will be available on the University website www.efluniversity.ac.in at least 10 days before the commencement of entrance tests. They will be displayed programme-wise and centre-wise. Applicants should download their Admit Pass. There will be no dispatch of Admit Passes, nor will duplicate Admit Passes be issued at the Test Centre. Candidates will not be permitted to write the entrance test at any other centre except the one mentioned in the Admit Pass. Admit Pass without verifying whether or not they satisfy the eligibility criterion for admission to a programme. The eligibility will be verified only at the time of actual admission. The candidates are therefore advised to go through the 2012-13 Prospectus carefully, and make sure of their eligibility before submitting their application form. Despite this caution, in case the candidates do not meet the minimum eligibility criteria and still apply and appear for the entrance test, they will do so at their own risk and cost. Mere issuing of the Admit Pass and allowing a candidate to write the Entrance Test and take the interview does not entitle him/her
