    Scope & Method


    The product scope of this report is defined as industrial silica sand, also referred to as silica sand, industrial sand, and quartz sand. This report covers both captive silica sand quarried for use within a companys operations, and silica sand sold on the open market. Total product demand and production are provided in metric tons. Demand is segmented by market in terms of: glass foundries hydraulic fracturing other markets such as building products and chemicals. Construction sand is not included in this report. Demand, production, and the various demand segments are also provided for the following regions: North America Western Europe Asia/Pacific other regions. Total demand, the various segments, and production are sized at five-year

    WORLD INDUSTRIAL SILICA SAND intervals for historical years 2006 and 2011 with a forecast to 2016. Forecasts emanate from the identification and analysis of pertinent statistical relationships and other historical trends/events as well as their expected progression/impact over the forecast period.
