What was your first reaction when reading the title of the story? (4 sentences) My first reaction when reading the story was that I felt shocked in how they treated her badly. Its cruel how they were calling her names, and still jumped her. I also felt happy knowing adults helped her with these situations and it ended. Its good that shes married know and is happy. 2. After reading the story, what does the author really mean when she writes that she died in the sixth grade? Did she really die? Explain your answer using examples from the story. (4 sentences) When the author says she died in the sixth grade she means that no one noticed her anymore and she was lonely. No she really didnt die. Perhaps not death in its purest form; a stopped-heart, doctor-call-it, ER kind of death, but it was a very distinct death, nonetheless, is how she describes it. She didnt feel like the person she used to be. 3. How does the author describe herself before she died? Go back to the story and find adjectives that describe her personality. (2 sentences) Before the author died she was Out-going, compassionate, smart, and sometimes overbearing. After the incident she said she was flat-lined. 4. In the second paragraph the author says she flat-lined. What does she mean? Look up the word in an online dictionary and write the definition. The author says shes flat-lined. Flat-Lined means to die or be so near death that the display of one's vital signs on medical

monitoring equipment shows a flat line rather than peaks and troughs. 5. How did The Crew influence others in school? Give specific examples that you found throughout the story. (4 sentences) The crew influences others in the school because they made them feel bad about themselves with all the rumors, which were lies. 6. The author mentions that the girls at the sleep over were 11 going on 17 then she states that she was content to be a kid for a while longer. How is it possible to be 11 going on 17? Describe some of the things the girls wanted to do that werent age appropriate. (4 sentences) Its impossible to be 11 going on to 17. They were going to be 11 going on to 17 by doing things older kids do. For example having pajama parties. 7.What were 3 specific negative effects the bullying had on the author? (4 sentences) three negative effects that the author had were that everyone was saying she was cry baby, they also slapped her and called her cruel names, the last effect was that they Kicked her out of the crew 8. When did things finally turn around for her? What exactly happened? How did she feel? (4 sentences) Things turned around for her when her dad asked the school to allow her in advanced placement. She met three girls who carried her along the two years. She felt like it was the best thing thats happened to her and she was happy about it. She also says that she resurrected.
