More than thirty servers including back up switches were hosted on QCA building which was due for refurbishment. The challenge was to relocate them to the new data centre on a new technical landscape, as QCA was to be handed over to the builders for renovation The initial task was to liaise with third party vendor Telstra, to define the requirements including backup of servers, cabling, applications, switch compatibility, fibre specifications and other necessary artefacts for server hosting. Abhi spearheaded the discussion in conjunction with Qantas and ensured future landscape is scoped out and well defined for the move. Secondly, Abhi liaised with business stake holders at Qantas and gained approval from various application vendors, TCS, Satyam running applications across the fleet of servers. The major limitation and challenge was to maintain a correlation between applications running on the servers and the new network infrastructure at the data centre.
