KEYNOTES: This Day in Keys History

June 14, 1990: The Keys scored seven runs in the second inning in a 9-0 shutout of Durham. Ken Shamburg went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Jeff Bumgarner earned the win, helping Frederick improve to 37-25 on the season. HOT P-NATS: Potomacs division-clinching win last night was their 15th win in their last 18 games, a stretch that began on May 25 at Lynchburg. Since then, the PNats have won all six of their series and swept two. MAY WE MOVE ON TO JUNE?: May was a bad month on the baseball field for game one starters Tim Berry and Taylor Hill. Both had a pair of wins and ERAs slightly over 3.00 in April, but posted ERAs over 6.00 in May. Things have turned around in June for both. Berry is 2-0 in the month with a 2.77 ERA and Hill has yet to record a decision, but has a 0.61 ERA in two starts and has held batters to a .133 average against him. BROKEN BATS: The Keys offense has been almost non-existent over the last five games, batting just .178 and scoring 13 runs. Several players have found themselves in the midst of a sudden slump, but none more so than Nicky Delmonico, who has just one hit in his last 17 at-bats.
