Starclassic Bubinga shells are made slightly thicker than those in our Starclassic Maple series to provide a more aggressive attack, a fuller deep and dark tone, and more powerful resonance. Numerous options are available to meet the varied and critical needs of professional drummers including a selection of more than 30 different shell sizes. Starclassic Bubinga also features two shell hardware finishes to choose from: black nickel and chrome. Starclassic Bubinga is simply an unprecedented combination of sight and sound.

Omni-Tune Lug System

The Omni-Tune Lug and Omni-Tune Drum Key allow you to tune both the top head and bottom head from the batter side. The Omni-Tune system expands and improves on the lug system invented in 1930 by drum designer William David Gladstone, which he created for snare drums. Starclassic Bubinga OmniTune features the Omni-Tune lug on every drum so the entire set benefits from faster, easier and more precise tuning. Tuning Both Heads From The Batter Side
To tighten the bottom head from the batter side, you simply turn Tension Bolt A counterclockwise using the square head key. To tighten the batter head from the batter side, you turn Tension Bolt B clockwise using the hex head key.

The bottom head can also be tuned from the bottom side in the traditional fashion, by turning Tension Bolt A counterclockwise using the hex head key.

With its Maple shell, this snare drum is a great example of what the S.L.P. series snare drum concept is all about. The combination of this choice of a hardwood shell, Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snares and Sound Arc Hoop results in a fully open and resonant sounding drum.

SUPER ALUMINUM

This drum features a thicker Aluminum 1.6mm shell with a uniquely wide internal 15mm flanged edge. Add to that a center ridge and new Sound Arc Hoops, and the vintage style sound is enhanced by a new layer of crispness and sustain. Its also very powerful, which is a characteristic not typically found in other generic Aluminum snare drums.

IRON COBRA 20th Anniversary

It was just 20 years ago, in 1992, when TAMA set out on the Iron Cobra project to create the ultimate drum pedal. The goal was to create something that would work in all environments, for all players, regardless of their music genre or playing style. At that time, we adopted the slogan Rock Solid Strength and Versatility as our mission statement for this pedal. In 1993, the first generation of Iron Cobra made its debut. It immediately demolished the conventional wisdom on bass drum pedals with innovations such as the Vari-Pitch Beater Holder and Iron Cobra Beater. It introduced key features like the Spring Tight and Speedo-Ring, which reduce power loss, and the Para-Clamp mechanism which securely clamps the pedal to the bass drum hoop. Iron Cobra was a huge success and the pedal was well deserving of the Rock Solid Strength and Versatility slogan. It made waves in the drum world and forced drummers and other manufacturers to take notice that a bold new pedal had arrived.

Over the years, we introduced many improvements such as the Oiles Bearing Hinge and later the Cobra Coil. The pedal evolved to fit the needs of drummers while staying true to its roots. In 2010, we released the Speed Cobra drum pedal, which offers pure aggression and power as well as lightning fast speed. The Speed Cobra was widely cheered by drummers who desire both speed and power from the same pedal. For 2013, TAMA expanded the Iron Cobra family to include the new Iron Cobra 600 and 200 series. These pedals were developed with the same design concept as the original Iron Cobra 900 series, and offer high performance and professional quality at an affordable price. Iron Cobra 600 series drum pedals are equipped with the same double chain drive and Speedo-Ring found on the Iron Cobra 900 line. They also feature a totally new function exclusive to this series. Cobra pedals, the true legend of innovation, continue to evolve and innovate for all drummers of this and future generations.

The HP30 utilizes the same offset cam design as the Iron Cobra Power Glide. The offset cam offers increased power and speed as the beater reaches the end of the stroke. The beater angle can be easily adjusted, a feature that is usually found only on more expensive pedals. The DS30 beater offers two different sounds: by rotating the beater head, you can choose felt for a softer controlled sound, or plastic for a louder and punchier sound.

This closed hi-hat attachment is ideal for double bass playing. The tension adjustment knob makes it possible to finely adjust the degree of opening of the hi-hat cymbals.
