Dear Potential Supporter: On behalf of the Natalie Williams Breast Care Foundation, I am writing to you to request your financial support of the 2013 An Afternoon with the Girls: Bustier Brunch. This annual fundraiser event will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00am-2:00pm at Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2616 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington DC 20020. Our special guest speaker is Award Winning Journalist and Breast Cancer Survivor, Ms. JC Hayward, WUSA TV9. Women of color are dying from breast cancer in disproportionate numbers because of the barriers they face while fighting the disease. In an effort to close this disparity gap, the Natalie Williams Breast Care Foundation (NWBCF) was founded to promote breast care awareness among women of color with a specific focus on the breast cancer disease and early detection, and the overall promotion of healthy breast care. Our efforts are targeted in the African American, Latino, Hispanic, African, and Caribbean communities. We are registered in the District of Columbia as a non-profit organization 501c3. Your support of this event helps to further our Test My Breasts citywide campaign. Our campaign is targeted specifically in urban communities across the Washington DC Metropolitan area. We partner with local hospitals and health agencies that provide the best testing and follow up care for women 40 and over. Our goal is to screen thousands of women of color for breast cancer through the month of October which is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Attached you will find detailed information which highlights various levels in which you may contribute.
