Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)
Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)
Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)
DearFriends, The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program is one of several important measures passed by the General Assembly to address the tragic problems caused by the use of alcohol and other drugs on our roads and highways. Anyone under the age of 18 must complete and pass the alcohol and drug course before obtaining a license to drive.
STATE OF GEORGIA Office of the Governor
ATLANTA 30334-0900
Each year, about onethird of the traffic deaths on Georgia roads involve a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs or a combination of both. The Department of Driver Services and the Department of Education developed this manual to make you more aware of the problems and the consequences of driving under the influence and of riding with other drivers who are under the influence. It will also assist you in becoming a more responsible driver. As your Governor and someone who wants the best for each of you, I encourage you to make a promise to yourself and Georgia by obeying the states highway safety laws; your lives, your families lives, and other drivers lives depend on it. Make Georgia proud. Sincerely,
