BANGLADESH AUCTION
SALE OF - 17TH SEPTEMBER 2013 (SALE NO.19)
CTC LEAF: 32,527 packages and 102 packages of Old Season teas on offer met with a fairly good demand which eased towards the close. BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens met with a fairly good demand and were generally firm but were easier towards the close. These types sold between Tk.195/- and Tk.198/-. The remainder followed a similar trend but eased by a large margin. There were some withdrawals. FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were initially a strong market and were firm to occasionally dearer. Prices ruled between Tk.196/and Tk.200/-. Mediums were also a good market although prices declined with the progress of sale. Similarly this trend prevailed for the plainer varieties where there were fair withdrawals. CTC DUST: 6,836 packages of teas on offer met with a fairly good demand at mostly easier rates. Select few lines of good liquoring Ds met with strong competition and were dearer. Other varieties also sold well but at easier rates. CDs eased further with some withdrawals. Blenders lent good interest with fair support from the Loose tea buyers. COMMENTS: The market opened on a fairly strong note on better liquoring types but demand slackened towards the end whereby a large weight of tea was withdrawn. Blenders were less active whilst there was fair interest from the Loose tea buyers for popular varieties. Dusts met with an improved demand at easier rates.
