Document Version manual -A3 Language remark English Chap. 6.3.3 System and station data: The additional resistance for pilot wire monitoring is given with 80 Ohm, the correct value is 100 Ohm. By the use of an barrier transformer 7XR9514 further 79 Ohm per transformer must be taken into account. The value of 60 Ohm is true for the 7XR9513.

2. Possible wrong tripping by use of the Lockout-Function Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.00, V3.01 V3.02, V3.1x Designed functionality: With the Lockout-Function a trip command issued by one of the protection functions does not reset when the protection function drops off, but is stored permanently. Failure of the auxiliary supply voltage also leads to a renewal of the trip command. Therefore this Lockout-information is stored into the EEPROM, which is resistant against the loss of the auxiliary supply voltage. The trip command can be reset via the Reset LED key or via a binary input. Malfunction: The malfunction is a bug in the Lockout-Functionality. If the trip commands of the differential protection function and the intertrip function are active at the same time a later reset of the Lockout works incorrectly. When resetting the Lockout-state drops off (trip command is going) but the reset of this information in the EEPROM fails. The result is that in case of a restart of the protection device the Lockout (trip command) becomes active again, although it was reset before. WARNING! In case of using the Lockout-Function a firmware-update is strongly recommended.

3. Delay time for the received trip signal from the remote station (DA2303) works incorrectly Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.0x, V3.10 V3.11 Designed functionality: During the expiration of the delay time for the receive trip signal from the remote station (parameter 2302) the coded trip-signal must be received permanently. Malfunction: During the expiration of the delay time no testing is performed whether the coded trip-signal is received permanently. The trip command is given if the coded trip-signal is received at the moment when the delay time expires.
4. Limitation of intertrip- and transfertrip-functionality in case that pilot wire monitoring is switched off Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.0x, V3.10, V3.11 V3.13 Malfunction: If pilot wire monitoring (PWM) is switched off, intertrip- and transfertrip-signal are transferred only in the direction Master -> Slave and not in the direction Slave -> Master. If pilot wire monitoring (PWM) is switched on, intertrip- and transfertrip-signal are transferred in both directions (correct functionality).
5. Spontaneous annunciation of emergency overcurrent function are not written onto the display Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.10, V3.11 V3.13 In case of pick-up and/or trip of the device spontaneous annunciation are written onto the display. These annunciation are frozen till LED-Reset is executed. Afterward the measurement values Idiff and I1 are displayed. Malfunction: If emergency overcurrent function picks-up no annunciation are written onto the display. But the display is frozen, therefore the measurement values are no longer updated. The last measurement values remain on the display, till LED-Reset is executed (but there is no visible reason to execute LED-Reset).

6. Limitation of activating the emergency overcurrent function Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.10, V3.11 V3.13 Malfunction: In case that spill current supervision picks up the differential protection is blocked (becomes inactive) after a settable delay time. In this case the emergency overcurrent function (EOC) is not activated even if the function (EOC) is set to active if the differential protection is inactive (DA1701).
7. Chattering of the intertrip- / transfer-trip command Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.0x, V3.10, V3.11 V3.13 Malfunction: If both relays (local and remote) are sending intertrip- or transfer-trip signals at once and the setting DA2303 (Prolongation time for the received trip signal) is less than 50ms, the trip-commands will chatter. If the setting DA2303 is larger than 50ms (default setting is 200ms) the tripcommands are stable (no chattering).

2. Limitation of the binary input functionality Block pilot wire monitor Concerned versions Cleared starting from version V3.0x, V3.1x Pilot wire monitoring (PWM) is blocked if the binary input Block pilot wire monitor (FNo. 3363) becomes active. Malfunction: PWM picks up and detects a fault of the pilot wires when the binary input is going, although the pilots are healthy. If parameterised the differential protection is blocked. After 100ms PWM failure drops off and blocking of differential protection is going.

Additionally, a transfer trip function (direct trip) must be included. This function must work in one direction. A binary inputs is used to enter the external trip into the relay. Both, the pilot wire supervision and the remote trip commands must work reliably also through barrier transformers, which become necessary in case induced voltage in the pilot wires might exceed 1.2 kV. Optional barrier transformers for up to 3 - 20 kV must be offered as accessories. Comprehensive commissioning aid should be integrated in the protection. The relay shall measure the pilot wire resistance and adapt the measurement accordingly. Load- and differential currents shall be indicated on the integrated LCD display of the relay. This enables a reliable and convenient commissioning. A trip test function, initiated via the integrated keypad, must be part of the commissioning aid. The trip test must be interlocked with a password. The parameterisation of the relay must be possible via the integrated keypad as well as through a serial interface. The supplier of the relay must be able to offer a software for the HMI, suitable for use on standard PCs. The software must be WINDOWS based. All events related to the relay must be registered in an event buffer of the relay. Faults in the power system shall be registered in fault memory. Up to three different fault events must be memorised. In addition the fault record of the last three faults must be available from the relay memory. The protection relay should be able to announce the trip command and the device readiness serially to a substation control system in accordance with IEC 60870-5103. A simultaneous link to a PC (operation program) and a substation control system is not required.
