Requirements to take part


To be able to take part in this year’s 24 hour hike, you must be perfectly fit!
Hiking Programme
One needs ankle-high hiking boots, a torch (either a hand torch or head and 4th Mai to 30th October 09
torch), rainproof clothing and telescopic sticks are recommended. It is also
recommended that you have time here to acclimatise before starting the hike guided hiking tours from Monday
and for this reason there are package deals offered!

Registration is necessary before 27th June, for this years hike as there is limi-
ted places - 100 hikers. This must be done on the internet:
www.24-stunden-wanderung.at

Please take note that a telephone no. or internet address must be given. The
Achensee Tourist Board will confirm all applications. If there are more than
100 hikers, there will then be a waiting list until 30th June.

Fee
The fee of EUR 28,00 must be paid at the meeting point - 06:15 a.m. before
the hike. Please note, that all registered hikers must pay the fee, even if they
do not take part!

Names must be given to the Achensee Tourist Office, if the free transport
before and after the 24 hour hike is required.

24 Hour Hike
4th to 5th July 2009 “The Heart of the Karwendel Mountains”

Planned route:
06:15 a.m.: Registration and payment in the Tourist Office in Pertisau
07:00 a.m.: Start of the 24 hour hike.
The hike starts in Pertisau and leads through the Karwendel Park Nature
Reserve by passing the mountain hut “Pletzach” and “Schleimsattel”
(1.556 m above sea level) and onwards into the heart of the Karwen-
del mountains. Hiking through the Bächental (Bächen valley) then up-
wards and over the mountains to the “Rotwand” mountain hut and then Achenkirch • Maurach • Pertisau • Steinberg • Wiesing
“Lämperer” mountain hut before descending down towards the village

Monday Meeting point: at 8:40 a.m. at the Spar supermarket opposite the crossroads
leading into the Christlum ski lifts.

Thursday
Guided Shale-Oil Hike. All day hike!
The hike leads through the “Unterau” valley then upwards passing
the “Bründl” mountain hut (1.216 m) onwards to the “Joch” mountain
hut (1.483 m) and then further onwards to the “Seewald” mountain hut
(1.640 m). From here the hike continues along a mountain pathway to the
mountain peak - “Hochplatte” (1.813 m). The total hiking time (there and
back) is approx. 5 ½ - 6 hours.
