A Word from your Editors Last Months Events DCON Reminders The Officers

Welcome to January, Key Clubbers!

A word from your editors: Hello to all you wonderful Key Clubbers! We, editors, hope that you are having a joyful and relaxing winter break and that your holidays have been merry. As sad as it is to admit, the second semester of this school year is coming up shortly, and we have quite a bit of business to handle. Those of you who are on probation, meaning that you did not meet the requirement of 15 physical hours and 5 non-physical hours during the first semester, will find out at the upcoming meeting on January 22nd. If you are on probation and wish to remain in Key Club you must complete your remaining hours within the first six weeks of the second semester. For those of you who went above and beyond last semester, your excess hours (both physical and nonphysical) will roll over on to this semester. We are still working towards reaching our goal of being one of the top 25 Key Clubs in the T-O District, so were going to be trying a couple of new things this semester. Were going to start an Ice Breaker Committeea group of enthusiastic freshmen created to brainstorm fun ideas to implement at the meetings and get more freshmen hyped about Key Club and volunteering. If youre interested in being a part of that, please let us know. We will also be doing Key Clubber of the Month; we, officers,

will choose one club member each month who we feel has exemplified great character and a real devotion to community service. This person will be recognized and rewarded, so SHOW US WHAT YOUVE GOT! All of these ideas will be addressed at the next meeting. We are also open to any positive ideas, suggestions, or inputs, so if you have any please let us know. We hope to encourage you guys to keep up the good work and stay pumped up about Key Club. Kim & Lauren

The Color Run, December 14

This past December, our Key Clubbers got a splash of color at the Color in Motion 5K! We got the chance to help out fellow runners by giving them the most colorful run of the year. This event is always a joy to experience; our club members always have fun at this exciting, colorful, and dirty event. It was a great way of saying good-bye to 2013 and hello to 2014! Keep up the great work and we look forward to more events like this next year!

T-O District Convention 2014

As some of you may have heard, DCON is coming up! Be sure to mark April 24-27 on your calendars so you guys dont miss out on this amazing experience! DCON (aka District Convention) is a four-day event that takes place in Dallas, Texas. Here, the Key Clubs from all around Oklahoma and Texas come together, celebrate service, and learn more about ways Key Club can help out their local communities. This is a funfilled convention where you will gain a new perspective on how Key Club can benefit those locally and globally. Not only do you get the chance to gain leadership skills from this experience but also along the way you get to meet Key Clubbers from the Oklahoma and Texas regions! This years theme has been announced to be Get Hooked on Service! The theme, based on Peter Pan, will spread a whimsical feeling all throughout its attendees! You dont want to miss out on this years DCON! Save the date and start preparing for DCON 2014! It is definitely a convention to remember!
It gives you a better perspective on the scale of key club as an organization. You learn how to be a better leader and how you can impact your club as an officer. It's also a lot of fun being with your friends and meeting new people. Gets you really pumped up about key club. -Paul Choi

It opens up the big picture about how key club is bigger than just our club, it's actually a national thing and what we do really makes a difference. -Sarah Bunn

It's such a blast being able to meet so many people from all over Texas and Oklahoma that share the same interests as you. A truly great experience! -Kim Vo
