How close to failed / no contraceptives: (Time Frame?) Taking it within 72 hours of rape, condom failure or just forgetting regular contraception can cut the chances of pregnancy by up to 89%, but it works best within the first 24 hours Cost: Between $40 and $60 for one pill
My Level of Agreement: Highlight or Underline One (I think this is.) Really Really Bad For Good for Society Society Potential Advantages Potential Disadvantages 1. Rape victims dont get 1. Teens feel safer to have sex pregnant + 2. Less abortions 2. Expensive + -

3. Morality arguments -
It contains Mifepristone (RU-486), a drug that blocks the hormone progesterone, needed to sustain pregnancy. It is used in combination with a synthetic prostaglandin called misoprostol, which causes the uterus to empty Level 5: How is this similar/different than the abortion pill (RU-486)?
Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide an alternative to someone not wanting to get pregnant? This most definitely gives people a way to possibly erase the consequences of their decisions and not take accountability for their choices.

Basic Overview: infant safe haven laws have been enacted as an incentive for mothers in crisis to safely relinquish their babies to designated locations where the babies are protected and provided with medical care until a permanent home is found. Safe haven laws generally allow the parent, or an agent of the parent, to remain anonymous and to be shielded from prosecution for abandonment or neglect in exchange for surrendering the baby to a safe haven.

What happens to parental rights? The parents are only identified to their child through a numbered bracelet system and they give up their child, no longer holding parental rights What is Illinois Law exactly? The Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act allows a parent to anonymously relinquish her or his newborn infant to the care and custody of a safe haven. It provides a safe alternative to parents who may be under severe emotional distress or are unable to provide for the basic needs of an infant. The law provides immunity from prosecution for parents who relinquish their unharmed newborn to a safe haven under the terms of this law. A "newborn" is defined as 30 days old or younger Level 5: How do state laws vary on this?
1. Mothers dont receive counseling for the shame and grief of abandonment 2. Some people dont take responsibility for their actions 3. Abandoned babies dont have medical or biological history -
Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide an alternative to someone not able to provide for a child?
