In the interests of your safety and the safety of others, we wouId request you take a minute to thoroughIy read this brochure. If there is anything uncIear, pIease ask a staff member. VISITOR'S ACCESS TO THE SITE: AII visitors are required to first proceed to the main reception area to sign the visitor's register and to obtain a Visitor's Pass. We request that you return to reception to sign out before departing the site. Signing in and out is important, as it faciIitates speedy evacuation of visitors, shouId an emergency arise which requires the site to be evacuated. Drivers either Ioading or unIoading in the terminaI are not required to sign in; they are required to remain in or with their vehicIe at aII times. Drivers are not permitted to enter the warehouse. Visitors are not permitted to enter the terminaI and warehouse areas of the site unIess accompanied by a staff member. SITE SAFETY RULES PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: All persons entering all areas of the terminal, other than the administration building and the visitor's car park, are required to wear high visibility vests or high visibility shirts. Visitors who will be visiting the terminal or warehouses will be issued with a high visibility vest. Footwear must be fully enclosed. Thongs or sandals are not permitted. For visitors or drivers working on site, safety footwear must be worn. SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted in any Office or Warehouse of the Freight Station site, except in the designated areas outside. Please use ashtrays provided for discarded butts. CONSUMPTION OF FOOD & DRINK: The consumption of food and drink is only permitted in the staff lunchrooms, the outside area adjacent to the administration building lunchroom and the administration building. For safety reasons food and drink may not be taken into the terminal or warehouse. SAFE WALK AREAS: There are designated safe walk areas in the terminal and yard. Pedestrians are requested to remain in the safe walk areas as far as possible. Forklifts and vehicles will cross the safe walk areas, so please be alert to vehicular traffic in the terminal. VISITOR'S IDENTIFICATION: Please wear your visitor's pass so that it is visible at all times. VISITORS SITE SAFETY INDUCTION VEHICLE SPEED LIMITS: The terminal speed limit is 5km/hr in the undercover area and 1Okm/hr in the yard. Forklifts have right of way over all other vehicles. FORKLIFTS: Forklifts access all areas of the terminal, so please drive slowly around corners, keeping a watch for forklifts. Vehicles must give way to forklifts. Riding on forklifts as a passenger or riding or being lifted on forklift tynes is forbidden. SAFETY & ADVISORY SIGNS: These signs exist for the safety of all persons in the terminal. Please observe and obey the instructions. PARKING: Parking of cars is only permitted in the designated car park on site and at the owner's risk. Car parking in the terminal is not permitted. Truck parking and standing is not permitted on the roads within the terminal, unless specifically authorised by a supervisor or fleet controller. CHILDREN & PETS: Due to the hazardous nature of the goods on site and the presence of commercial vehicles and forklifts, we regret that children and pets are not permitted in the warehouses and on the floor of the transport terminal. Children and pets entering the terminal in commercial vehicles are required to remain in the vehicle during the entire duration of the visit. INJURIES: Any injuries sustained on site, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately to a member of staff and an entry must be made in the injury register. First Aid is available on site. CONTRACTORS WORKING ON SITE: f your work on site is other than stocktaking, loading or unloading, then you will most likely require a Work Permit. This permit must be obtained before commencing any work. SITE EVACUATION INSTRUCTIONS: The chance of site evacuation occurring during your visit is very remote. However, should an emergency situation arise, which requires the evacuation of the site, evacuation alarms will sound across the entire site. Should this happen, please remain calm and obey the instructions of the staff member accompanying you. Using the safest most direct route, you should proceed to the Emergency Assembly Point located at the pedestrian gate entrance to the site from Administration building and carpark. f for some reason it is not safe to assemble at the main Emergency Assembly Point, then the second assembly point to be used is the main carpark. Once at the assembly point, you should wait until the visitor's roll is called and you are noted as being present. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE ACCOUNTED FOR; OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AS A MISSING PERSON. Our Staff are all trained to deal with on site emergencies and we request that you give them your full co-operation, so that they may ensure your safety and the safety of others during an evacuation.
