    WHY I WANT TO TEACH

    The Teacher works with others to create enviroments that support individual and collaborative learning and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement to learning, and self motivation.

    REASONS FOR WANTING TO TEACH


    1. Student success. Student success is what is going to drive me to teach. Each student who doesnt understand a concept and they learn it with my help is exhilarating. 2. Affecting the future. It might be trite, but true. Everyday teachers mold the future each day in class. For most of these kids, their teacher see them more than their parents. 3. The Love for kids. I believe in the passing the knowledge down to the next generation. To give children the tools to create a better society.

    Effective Traits
    I think the most important traits of an effective teacher are willingness to change/try new things, and making a connection with your students. With the common core standards and all of the shifts that have come with them, teachers are constantly pushed out of their comfort zones, so handling that and embracing it is essential to maintain effectiveness in the classroom. Also if you want kids to work hard and care about what your teaching them, you must develop some kind of bond with them.

    WHAT KIND OF TEACHER DO I WANT TO BECOME?


    I believe that every student has to ability to learn, and Im going to expect every student to put forth effort to learn. I want to become a better listener for my students. Someone they can talk to.. Not only become their teacher, but to become someone they trust and respect. I want to become that teacher that makes a difference. I want the kids I teach to look back when they receive that HS Dipolma, BA, BS, or even their Ph.D, and know and feel that I made a difference in their lives.

    CHARACTERISTICS OF STUDENTS I WANT TO TEACH


    I can say that I want hardworking, smart, obedient, respectful kids, but you really cant pick and choose the characteristics. My goal as a teacher is not only to teach lessons, to but to teach values and respect to young boys and girls. I want Students to assume responsibility for their learning and behavior in the classroom.

    CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COMMUNITY


    I would like the characteristics of the community to be helpful, encouraging and responsible. I would like to teach at an inner city school. Everyone talks about how dangerous and it is, but from one person acts the rest the kids suffer. I want to work with the kids who dont have much. The kids who want to learn to have a better life for themselves.

    CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROFESSION


    As for me being a teacher, I would like to be a positive role model for all my students, especially the young boys. All teacher contribute to the teaching profession. We change and help lives, we are advocates of our students. Teaching is such a rewarding job! There will be nothing better at the end of the day when YOU realize a student truly grasped what YOU taught.
