This helps us to grow our sales in Rupees and thus we have an added advantage over our international competitors. o Since a software house doesnt need to be large in area therefore we would be incurring low fixed costs, for e.g. lower monthly rent, less utilities expense, lower maintenance costs o Since each of the 4 partners has come up with Rs. 1,000,000 therefore despite of the initial costs and business set-up, we have strong cash flows which would ultimately help us in the future years if in case we wish to expand. o The industry requires every software house to be accessible by the corporations worldwide in order to gain sustainable competitive advantage, therefore one the major strength is the accessibility to the globe. This would also be a useful tool in increasing our companys awareness worldwide. o Another major factor which plays an active part in the success of a software house is the role of Human resource. Our company claims to have street smart human resource which is efficient and effective enough to surpass our monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly goals. Weaknesses Some of our major strengths of our company are as follows; o Higher cost of production/ cost of sales i.e. we have assumed 40% cost of sales despite of the industry average of 20% cost of sales. The major reason is that initially, we have outsourced some software developers. The reason being is the limited capital for such an in-house investment. o Another major weakness is the lack of presence in the global regions. Opportunities o Apart from the international market, one of the biggest opportunity for us is to tap the local market by offering services to the local corporations, SMEs and institutions. For this we need to aware the people about our company through social media (LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) and print media. o Since we have strong cash flows in the beginning so this would help us to increase our capital structures i.e. hire more employees, invest in software development and maintenance and invest in computers. o Another major opportunity would be to open front offices locally and internationally. o At some point in future, we have to look up for the strategic alliances and partnerships with the local and international corporations and institutions. Threats Some of the major threats to our business in particular are as follows; o Sub-continent is rich with IT professionals and many young entrepreneurs are opening up their software houses; therefore our major threat would be our competitors who are large in number (Pakistan and India both). o One major threat faced by every industry player would be the indecisive nature of the clients which vary with their customized needs and concern for pricing. In many occasions it is seen that the prospective clients request for the services which are readily provided but the client for unidentified reasons back off. This is a major dilemma which is being faced by several software houses worldwide. o Another major threat could be the backward integrations by the clients or business partners i.e. preparing in-house facilities for the similar services which are being offered by software houses.
