Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating
Description of how to implement in the class: The teacher will introduce the study of Martin Luther King, Jr. using the video from
BrainPop as a hook. Prior to showing the video, the teacher will ask students to remember one interesting thing about Martin Luther King,
Jr. After viewing the video, students will be asked to share their interesting fact. The teacher will record all facts. The students will be
grouped to review the video one more time. Each group will be asked to find one more interesting fact. All facts will be added to the record
sheet.
The teacher will make sure there is one fact per student in the class. Each student will then record that fact using Audacity or another
recording software. The final podcast will be added to the classroom blog for others to review.
Optional idea: Each student will become a news broadcaster and report a story on Martin Luther King, Jr. as if they were living in his time.
Students will discuss what times were like back then, and how that is different from today.
