WHAT CAN YOU DO TO STOP COMMON CORE IN PA?

1. EDUCATE YOURSELF AND KNOW YOUR FACTS SOME SOURCES TO START DOING SO ARE:

2. EDUCATE OTHERS: Most Pennsylvanians have little or no idea about Common Core or its consequences.
Education is crucial! Talk to friends, send informative E-mails, attend legislators Townhalls and speak up,
post on Facebook, Tweet, voice your concerns on Talk Radio when Common Core is being discussed (and it
is, more and more often), write Letters to the Editor, set up booths at community events and flea markets
and be available to discuss and provide information on Common Core, pass out informative flyers at the
polls on Election Day. (Note that this is permitted. For information and digital copies of flyers, E-Mail:
nocommoncoreinpa@yahoo.com.) There are innumerable venues to get the word out, but you need to act!

3. ATTEND SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS AND VOICE YOUR CONCERNS THERE. CONTACT YOUR
SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

4. E-MAIL OR PHONE THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS, EXPRESSING YOUR INFORMED
CONCERNS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WHAT YOU SAY IS KNOWLEDGEABLE, CREDIBLE AND
ACCURATE. IF POSSIBLE, CITE SPECIFICS OF HOW COMMON CORE IS AFFECTING YOUR
CHILD AND YOUR FAMILY.

Type in your address and click on GO to find your Representative in the PA House and your State
Senator. You can then access their E-Mail and phone information.

A variety of additional information on various aspects of Common Core is available in digital
form, including: (1) informative flyers that can be photocopied and distributed in various
settings such as election polling places on Election Day, (2) various articles and writings that
can be forwarded and photocopied for educational purposes, (3) opt-out information for
PSSAs and Keystones, and (4) tabulated E-Mail addresses of all PA House and Senate
Education Committee members that can be cut and pasted for a group E-mail. E-Mail
