Technical Assistant: One post UR Statistics

a. Classification of post & Pay Band : Group B Technical, Non Gazetted

b. Educational Qualification
Essential
: (i) Three years Bachelor Degree in Statistics/Maths with Statistics as

one of the subjects from a recognized University
(ii) Diploma/Certificate of one year duration in Computer Applications
or one year experience in using Statistical software in the lower
scale.
c. Nature of Duties
: Collection of data on socio-demographic and epidemiological aspects of

vector borne diseases in the field, compilation and analysis of
laboratory/ field data using statistical software packages such as SPSS/
STATA/ Microsoft Excel etc., and assistance in the maintenance of
computer networking systems.
d. Age limit
: Not exceeding 30 years as on the last date of receipt of application,

i.e. 12-01-2015.
Technical Assistant : One post UR Computer Application (Reserved for person with
hearing impairment)

Troubleshooting and maintenance of Computer hardware and
software, and Networking system. Maintenance of regular back up of
data and updating and management of Website. Computerizing health
education materials, reports and other printing materials.

useful for vector and parasite/pathogen control.

: 10+2 with science subjects or equivalent from a recognized board with

one year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)/
Sanitation/Public Health Science/Biological Science from Govt.
recognized Organizations/ Institutes/Medical Colleges, and one year
experience in Medical Laboratory Technology /Public Health/Sanitation
in a recognized Institute.
Or
10+2 with Science subject with two years Diploma in Medical
Laboratory Technology (DMLT)/ Sanitation/Public Health Science /
Biological Science.
c. Nature of Duties
: Field work related to entomological and parasitological surveys

including collection of blood samples, Laboratory works related to
Vector identification, Bioassay, Biochemical assay, ELISA, PCR assay,
Dissection, Staining, Microscopy etc., and any other related work as
assigned by the Superiors.
d. Age limit

i.e. 12-01-2015.
Technician A: Five posts- UR-3, ST-1 and OBC-1 (One post under UR is reserved for
person with disability locomotor.)

: 10th or equivalent from a recognized board with one year Certificate in

Medical Laboratory Technology from a Govt. recognized Institute or
one year laboratory/field/clinical experience of working in a Govt.
Laboratory/ Govt. recognized Institution.
: Field work related to entomological and parasitological surveys
including collection of blood samples, Laboratory works related to
Vector identification, Bioassay, Biochemical assay, ELISA, PCR assay,
Dissection, Staining, Microscopy etc., and any other related work as
assigned by the Superiors.
: 28 years as on the last date of receipt of application, i.e. 12-01-2015.

-:4:Other Information:
1. The post is temporary but likely to be continued.
2. Age relaxation is allowed for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates and Govt. Servants in accordance with the instructions
and orders issued by the Dept. of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard. Candidates working in
the Long Term projects of the ICMR Institutes/Centre shall be given one time age relaxation provided they
meet the essential qualifications and experience prescribed for the post.
3. Benefits of new restructured defined Contributory Pension System are admissible as per the provision
contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/
7/2003- ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003.
4. The above posts are with all India transfer liability.
5. The selection to the post will be made by both Competitive test and interview.

A Demand Draft for Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) drawn in favour of The Director, Vector Control
Research Centre, Puducherry payable at Puducherry being the application fee should be enclosed along with
the application. SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and Women Candidates are exempted from the payment of
application fee. The Councils employees are not exempted from the payment of application fee for Direct
Recruitment posts.
Attested copies of certificates in proof of Date of birth, Educational qualification (Certificate/ Statement of
marks), Experience as mentioned under essential qualification and Community (SC/ST/OBC) must be enclosed
with the application. Separate application should be submitted for each post. Candidates working in
Government Departments should send their applications through proper channel or should produce NO
OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the time of appearing for the Competitive Test and Interview.
SC/ST candidates called for Written Test will be paid second class Travelling Allowance (To & fro) fare by the
shortest route as admissible under Rules.
Incomplete applications and the applications received after the last date will be rejected.
Applicants will be short listed for the interview based on their performance in the written test.
Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to
selection shall be a disqualification and such candidates will not be entertained. The decision of the Director,
VCRC shall be final in all the matters in this regard.
