M.

Tech (High Value Assistantship) for 1st sem 2014-15


The Electrical Engineering Department has a few positions for M. Tech (High Value

Assistantship). The applications for this position can be directly mailed to


admissionee@ee.iitd.ac.in with an attached CV and a copy of proof of valid GATE score in
GATE 2013/14. The candidates who fulfill the criteria of a minimum GATE score may only
send in their applications. The details of the minimum GATE score requirement for various
streams can be found in the Annexure. In this programme the Institute will be looking for
both academic credentials and Laboratory skills.
The applications should be submitted by July 07, 2014. The candidates who fulfill the criteria
defined for each area of specialization and who have submitted an application will go through
a written and Laboratory test followed by an interview on July 16, 2014 to be selected for the
programme. The applicants should submit an application fee of Rs.300.00 for General and
OBC candidates and Rs.150.00 for SC/ST/PH candidates at the time of interview. The
application fees may be submitted as a DD in favour of Registrar IIT Delhi.
Nature of programme:

1. These students will have the same academic rules including credit requirements,
continuation rules etc., as applicable to Part-Time students.
2. These students will be provided hostel and other facilities like a 2-year
M.Tech/MS(R) students. They will be charged Institute and other fees at par with the
2-year M.Tech students.
3. These students will be paid enhanced assistantship of Rs. 15,000/- per month for a
maximum period of 3 years. For continuation of assistantship, the rules applicable to
2-year M.Tech will be applicable.
4. These students may be asked to put in upto 20 hours per week for laboratory work
(Teaching Assistantship).
5. Once the student has accepted the offer of admission and registered for the 3-year
M.Tech programme he/she would not be allowed change over to the 2-Year
M.Tech/M.S.(R) programme.
