Project: Improving spell check on Apple's I-Phone by developing a new algorithm using geometric

information of keyboard layout and touch points.

I-phone brings along with it, an advantage which we didnt have with PC keyboards We can
know the location of touch points by the user. We use this information and the fixed
geometric layout of the QWERTY keyboard to improve the spell check.
Designed a new 5 layered algorithm and implemented it for the PC-version of classical
notepad.
Application offered a 70% improvement in correct word suggestions and 90% reduction in
wrong suggestions, when compared to MS-Office 2003 for various random user inputs.
Algorithm is expected to give 50% improvement over I-Phone's algorithm.
Comprehensive models were designed for adding machine learning techniques and user's
idiosyncratic behaviour.

Key Academic Projects:

B.Tech Project: Improve existing Data-Integration methods in Heterogeneous Databases by
designing a new algorithm which uses example design.
Supervisor: Prof. Sumit Ganguly, IIT Kanpur

Data Integration constitutes about 75% of the labour involved in maintaining and evolving
various net portals, which have grown exponentially.
Our method aims to bring down this manual labour, which would have significant effects on
maintaining costs and growth potential of these companies.
We create an example database, and design a intelligent query firing mechanism, which by
firing some rounds of queries and looking at the outputs of those, is able to zero in on the
behaviour of the query.
Our method can be used as an independent approach or as an additional layer of refinement
over existing approaches.

Project: Design and create an application software which simulates bidding, transfers and team

formation, done by players and team owners, in the next season of IPL .

The solution proposed was web-based design solution which was implemented using LAMP
architecture.
Many security features (encryption of passwords, mailing the user passwords by
creating them randomly) were successfully implemented.
Special emphasis was given to usability and user-interface. An option for player transfers
was also provided.
The project won the 2nd prize among all projects in the batch.

Project: Design and implement a limited functionality compiler for C#.

Supervisor: Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Agrawal, IIT Kanpur
Duration: Aug 07-Nov 07

The compiler was successful in compiling and optimising code for basic arithmetic functions,
loops and conditions.
Compiler was implemented in Java, and it compiled to IA32 native code.
