    Pablo DeLeon Sr., age 74,
    of Nixon, passed away on
    Feb. 7, 2015. He was born
    on Jan. 15, 1941 in Smiley to
    Chon and Simona Martinez
    DeLeon.
    Pablo was preceded in
    death by his parents; his
    wife, Dorothy Flores DeLeon; a son, Rene DeLeon;
    and two brothers: Jose DeLeon Sr. and Guadalupe DeLeon.
    He is survived by five
    sons: Pablo DeLeon Jr, Mike
    DeLeon (Pina), Gabriel De-

    Leon, Nick DeLeon (Kristine), Fernando DeLeon


    (Andrea); two daughters:
    Diana Crocker (John), Anna
    DeLeon (Gayle Autry); two
    sisters: Elvira Flores, Maria
    Ochoa; four brothers: Herculano DeLeon, John DeLeon, Julian DeLeon, Eusebio
    DeLeon; 29 grandchildren;
    23
    great-grandchildren;
    numerous nieces, nephews,
    and many friends.
    Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    We have received the
    preliminary autopsy report,
    Van Slooten said. The findings of the report are consistent with witness statements.

    Waligura
    was taken into custody, but
    later released, pending fur-

    ther investigation.
    Van Slooten has said the
    case appears to be an act of
    self-defense.
    Van Slooten did not disclose what ignited the altercation between the young
    man and his father, but
    interviews with neighbors
    tell police that the deceased
    wielded a large knife and a
    can of pepper spray before
    he was shot; and that he was
    pacing in the street and appeared intoxicated.
    This case remains under
    investigation, Van Slooten
    said. No other information
    is available at this time.
