What do we do?
Bob and Angelique Kendrick began visiting Central America in 1982. The extreme poverty and spiritual needs
they saw broke their hearts. After several more trips to the region, they realized that the Lord was calling
them to full-time missionary service. In 1985, Bob resigned his position as pastor, and he, Angelique, Amy
(age 3), and Matt (age 1) moved to Costa Rica to enter language school to better prepare themselves for
work in the Spanish speaking world.
Upon completion of language school in 1986, the Kendricks began their new ministry in El Salvador, Central
America. For the first two years, they served in the First Baptist Church of Chinameca. Chinameca is a small,
rural town of 22,000 people, 120 kilometers east of San Salvador. During this time, Bob realized that there
was only a handfull of churches scattered within a 50-mile radius of Chinameca. The need to reach the lost in
this area and to plant new churches there burdened his heart. In 1987, the Kendricks founded the Baptist
Bible Institute of Chinameca to train pastors to start churches in this vastly unreached area. Soon, Institute
students were starting churches and sending their leaders back to the Institute to be trained as well. Through
outdoor crusades, door to door efforts with planted churches, and short term mission trips from supporting
churches entering elementary and high schools, El Salvador began being saturated with the gospel and God's
love.
In 2001, the Kendrick Ministries, with help from the Hope Foundation, were able to buy a radio station that
would offer Christian radio for their entire target area of Eastern El Salvador- home to over 2 million people.
In 2005, the Kendricks were able to expand their ministry westward to the capital of San Salvador
(population 2.2 million). They continue their work with the Bible Institute, church planting, and Radio
Esperanza.
Kendrick Ministries is a 501C-3 non-profit organization. The ministry maintains support services and
staff in Laurel, Mississippi. All financial contributions are handled by part-time staff and Kendrick Ministries
Board officers. Holt and Associates of Laurel, Mississippi oversee and prepare our annual reports for our
board members, as well as, governmental agencies (state of Mississippi and IRS).
Thank you for your interest in our work for the Lord. Your prayers for us are always appreciated.

AGENDA
EL_SALVADOR_TODAY
El Salvador
El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America. It is only about the size of
Massachusetts, yet has around 7 million inhabitants. There are an estimated 3 million more expatriate
Salvadorans living in the U.S. and Canada. Most of this expatriates provide economic relief for their families
still living in El Salvador.
The country is bordered by Guatemala, Honduras, and the Pacific Ocean. It is a beautiful country filled with
mountains, volcanoes and beaches.
The capital San Salvador, boast a population of 2 million people, and is a modern, growing and dynamic city.
However, much of the country is still rural in nature and the economy in large part is still based on
agriculture.
While the majority of people in El Salvador are lost, without Christ, the Christian population is growing
rapidly. Although the current government is communist, there is liberty to share the gospel openly, even in
public schools. And, over the past decade or so, a great spiritual harvest has been reaped.
Paul said, "My prayer and hearts desire for Israel is that they be saved." Our prayer and hearts desire is that
EVERYBODY in El Salvador be saved, as well.
Our slogan/theme/ prayer here is "El Salvador sera para Cristo." In English, "El Salvador for Jesus."

Ministerial Training
Kendrick Ministries currently underwrites and oversees two Bible Institutes. The first one was founded 21
years ago in the town of Chinameca. It is located 2 hours east of the capital. Its focus is to train pastors and
staff to start churches in Eastern El Salvador. Over the years, hundreds of students have graduated and now
serve through Eastern El Salvador.
The second Bible Institute began nearly 2 years ago in the city of Mejicanos. Its focus is to primarily train
pastors and staff to evangelize and plant new churches in and around the capital of San Salvador.
The two schools combined currently have 180 students.
The Angelique Kendrick School of Music: the purpose of the Music School is to teach students from local
churches music and instruments (guitars and keyboards). The school is located in Nueva Guadelupe which is
2 miles from Chinameca. The school has just opened and has 18 students.
Conferences: Kendrick Ministries sponsors a variety of pastors, mens, womens and youth conferences
during the year.
Pastoral Assistance
Bob and Angelique love pastors and their families. They spend many hours each week visiting in their homes,
loving on their children, counseling and trying to make sure that their needs are met both spiritually and
physically.
We are not their supervisors, we are their pastors. We are their confidants and friends. We love them and
are here to serve them. - Bob
Most rural pastors in El Salvador earn only $150 - $250 a month. A pastor starting a new church earns much
less. Kendrick Ministries budgets $25,000 annually to help assist these men of God as needs arise.
Each year your donations help to provide medical care, basic home supplies and limited supplemental
income to dozens of rural pastors serving in difficult situations.
Annual Clothes Drive: each year in November our friends in the U.S.A. donate and ship a container or
containers of clothes that help clothe around 150 pastors and their families for an entire year. [see gallery]
Pastors Emergency Fund: this year, this fund has helped by paying the funeral expense of a rural pastor,
dental work on a pastors child, food, etc. for pastors and families in need.
Special Projects

Kendrick Ministries helps this local orphanage with 86 children by:
-Coordinating with Touch the World Ministries
-Touch the World Ministries helps coordinate child sponsorships

-Raising support for special projects and needs
University Scholarships
Kendrick Ministries provides 18 full scholarships to pastors and other outstanding leaders to study at the
Evangelical University in San Salvador.
These men will serve or are serving in larger churches here in the capital, where this level of study better
prepares them to work with professionals. A full annual scholarship is $600. Please contact us if you desire to
sponsor a student.
Every year, thousands of boxes are sent here. This small box, filled with candy and toys is the only Christmas
gift these kids will receive.

Other Projects
-Evangelistic Literature
We are out of Bibles and tracts. We can buy tracts from Fellowship Tract League and have them delivered
here for 1 penny each. What a blessing!
10,000 tracts cost $100
100,000 tracts cost $1,000
1,000,000 tracts cost $10,000
We can buy Bibles here for $3 - $5 each.
We can use any band instruments and its case for the school of music.
We can use sound system equipment, microphones, speakers, etc for the many mission churches starting
this year.
GROUPS
We do host groups each year to come and see what the Lord is doing in El Salvador and to help us with an
ongoing ministries or projects.
We are not a group driven ministry, but we do believe that groups bless our folks here and bless the group
that comes.
Based on the focus of your trip. Bob will do all the planning, organizing and scheduling of your visit and send
you a detailed agenda a couple of weeks before your group arrives.
Groups, many times, volunteer after our annual budget is presented. So, groups need to help cover all of
their personal and ministry expenses while on the field (food, transportation, lodging, translators, etc.)
Each group is responsible for making their own flight arrangements to and from El Salvador.
