CLERK

: Good afternoon. Welcome to Amanjiwo Hotel. How can I help you?

MR. ADAMS

: Yes, Id like to check in.

CLERK

: Have you made the reservation before?/Did you make a reservation

before?
MR. ADAMS

: Yes, I have/Yes, I did. My name is Henry Adams.

CLERK

: Just a minute, sir. Ill check it first (checking in the computer). Alright, sir. I have
your reservation. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adams, two boys and one girl. Two
double rooms and one single for 10th to 12th April. One double room has a
double bed and one has twin beds. The single room has a single bed. Is
that right, sir?

MR. ADAMS

: Thats right. How much is the total cost?

CLERK

: Well, sir. The rate for double rooms is $150 per day and single room is
$100. Then, the total cost will be $1200.

MR. ADAMS

: oh, okay.

CLERK

: Okay, sir. Could you please fill in this registration card? / Would you please
fill in this registration card?

MR. ADAMS
CLERK

: Sure. Is there any special rate this weekend?


: Yes, there will be a ten percent discount. Could I have your passport/ID card,
sir? Or May I have your passport, sir?

MR. ADAMS

: Here they are.

CLERK

: (Checking the passport) Alright, sir. Here is the brochure of the hotel
facilities and your breakfast coupon. And your room number is 303, 304,
and 306. Here are your keys. To get to your rooms, take the elevator on
the right up to the third floor. Turn left after you exit the elevator and your
rooms will be on your left. A bell boy will send up your bags shortly. Is
there anything else, sir?

MR. ADAMS

: When is the dinner served?

CLERK

: The dinner is served at 19.00 in the restaurant on the first floor next to the lobby.

MR. ADAMS

: Could you reserve a table for my family at 19.30?

CLERK

: Of course, sir.

MR. ADAMS

: Okay. Thank you very much. Good afternoon.

CLERK

: Youre welcome sir. Have a nice stay, sir.


CHECK-OUT

CLERK

: Good morning, sir. How can I help you?

MR. ADAMS

: Yes, please. I would like to check out today.

CLERK

: Okay, sir. May I ask your name and room number, sir? / Could I have your
name and room number, sir? / May I know your name and room number,
sir?

MR. ADAMS

: Henry Adams and my rooms number are 303, 304, and 306.

CLERK

: Wait a minute, sir (checking the computer). Alright, Mr. Adams. Here is your
bill and please check it to see if the amount is correct.

MR. ADAMS

: The total cost is $1400. What is the extra 20 dollars for?

CLERK

: Thats for the international phone call you made in the room.

MR. ADAMS

: Well, I never made an international phone call from this hotel.

CLERK

: I see. Let me check this first sir. (checking the bill). Im very sorry for the
inconvenience, sir. Im afraid that we put someone elses bill into yours.
But, Ill make up the bill right away.

MR. ADAMS

: Sure.

CLERK

: Here is your bill sir. Please check it one more time.

MR. ADAMS

: Alright, can I pay with the credit card?

CLERK

: Of course. May I have your passport, please? / could I have your passport,

sir?
MR. ADAMS

: Here you are.

CLERK

: Here is your receipt. Thank you and have a nice day.

MR. ADAMS

: thank you, you too. Good bye.

a. There is a guest check-in at your hotel in this evening. She made the reservation two days
prior her arrival. She made the reservation for her and her two friends. She booked one
deluxe suite facing the ocean for 29th December 2014 to 1st January 2015. She asks you
where the swimming pool is because after she settles in the room she and her friends want
to swim. And she wants to have dinner at 07.30 in the evening and asks you to reserve a
table for her and her friends.

b. The guest is checking-out from your hotel in the midday. You give her the bill but the
amount is wrong. There is an extra $50 in the bill. This charge is for the broken nightstand
lamp that she broke.
