    Introduction
    There is no future in the mere act of dispensing
    o can and will be taken over by other means

    Pharmacists should start serving public by providing care


    To provide this care
    1) Pharmacists should have an academic training
    2) Legislations should exist

    Then, pharmacist can act as health care professionals, and


    Should be responsible & accountable in serving the
    community in a better way than they currently do

    The Paradigm Shift

    Forty years ago, pharmacy practice was merely


    dispensing/compounding
    Nowadays, pharmacy practice includes patient care
    o Providing drug-related services & information

    Patient care provided by the pharmacist is Pharmaceutical Care

    The aim of pharmaceutical care is to ensure that the
