    Subject: Request for job application

    Dear Sir/Madam

    I hope that this letter finds you in the best of health. Last week, on 12th December 2009, I came across a
    job advertisement for a teacher from your school in the classified section of ‘The News’. I am interested
    in the job offer and would like to apply for it.

    I am 19 years old and have just completed my private ‘A’ levels from Beaconhouse A Level Campus,
    Banigala.I had earlier done my ‘O’ Levels from Beaconhouse School Satellite Town and achieved straight
    As including As in English, Math’s and science subjects. Hence I think that I would best fit in the shoes of
    the vacant primary section science teacher’s post in your school.

    In addition to my academic achievements I have good communication skills and have been an avid
    debater in my school, participating in various debating competitions and Model UN.I am also quite a
    experienced computer user and have done two private software courses in this regard. I can work on all
    basic computer software such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel etc. I also am an athirst reader and

    read fiction and non-fiction on regular basis. In addition to this I keep my knowledge updated my
    researching latest information on the internet.

    Unfortunately, I have no experience in teaching in any big institutions due to my studies. But I have been
    teaching three or four primary students as private tuition for past two years. I think I am well qualified
    for the job because I have studied Science till A Levels and can help students in any difficulties they face.
    Secondly, I have been through the phase of student myself and can well understand the problems that
    students face. Having been studied in Beaconhouse School System for 11 years, I am well aware of the
    school policy and school rules and regulations.

    Dear Sir/Madam, I believe in modern teaching methods rather than the old ‘follow the book’ and ‘learn
    by heart’ techniques. I will try by very best to teach my students using visual presentations, group
    activities and project assignments to promote proper learning and understanding so the students can
    apply what they learn at the school in daily life.

    I hope you will consider my request and allow me a chance for an interview.
