3. How to apply:
[A] GUIDELINES FOR SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE:
Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her
photograph and signature as per the specifications given below:
(I) Photograph Image:
Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture, against a light-coloured,
(preferably white) background.
Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the
shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows
If you have to use flash, ensure there is no red-eye
If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly
seen.
Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious head wear is allowed but it
must not cover your face.
(II) Signature Image:
The applicant has to sign on white paper in Black colour (in a box of 2 cm X 5 cm.).
The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
(III) Scanning The Photograph & Signature:
(a) Photograph:
Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
Set Color to True Color
Resolution 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
Size of file for photograph should be between 20KB50KB
Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is
more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no.
of colours etc., during the process of scanning.
(b) Signature:
Resolution 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)
Size of file for signature should be between 10KB 20KB
Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB
Crop the image of the signature in the scanner to the edge of the signature, then use the
upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
The images of photograph and signature files should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file
name is: image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder
files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.
Candidates using MS Windows/MS Office can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg
format not exceeding 50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture
Manager.
Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using Save
As option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50KB (photograph) & 20KB
(signature) by using crop and then resize option. Similar options are available in other photo
editor also.
If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.

While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate should fill in all his/her details on
Page 1. After verifying that the details filled in are correct and clicking on the Submit/ Next
button a link will be provided on Page 2 of the online application form to upload his/her
photograph and signature.
Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature
There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature
Click on the respective link Upload Photograph / Signature
Browse & carefully select the location where the Scanned Photo / Signature file has
been saved.
Select the file by clicking on it
Click the Upload button
Your Online Application will not be registered unless you upload your photo and
signature as specified.
Note :
a) In case the face in the photograph or signature is unclear the candidates application
will be rejected.
b) In case the photograph or signature is unclear, the candidate may edit his/her
application and re-upload his/her photograph or signature.
[B] ONLINE APPLICATION FORM & PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE
Application fee: Rs. 600/- (Non refundable)
i. The process of online application form and payment towards recruitment application fees can
be made from November 15, 2013 to November 30, 2013.
ii. The Application fee can be remitted only through ONLINE MODE of payment via
Master/Visa Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
iii. Candidates are first required to go to the Banks website www.svcbank.com and click on the
Career Section. No other means/mode of application is acceptable. Then click Recruitment
for the posts of CSO (Officer Grade) and CSR (Clerical Cadre)-2013-2014. Then select
the appropriate post for which the candidate wishes to apply.
iv. Before registering their applications on the website, candidates should possess a valid e-mail
id. In case the candidate does not have a valid e-mail id, he/ she will have to create a new
email id before applying online
v. Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the Online Application at the appropriate
places very carefully. Candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. The
name of the candidate should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the
Certificate/Marksheets & PAN Card.
vi. Once the application is filled in completely, candidates may click on the SUBMIT button at
the end of the online application form to finally submit the application. Before clicking on the
SUBMIT button, candidates are advised to verify every field in the application. No
change/edit will be allowed after submission.
vii. If the candidate wishes to cross-check or alter/edit the data, then prior to submitting the
application already entered/input, the candidate may click on SAVE Button. After the
candidate clicks on the SAVE button, a provisional registration number and password is
displayed on the screen. Candidates should note down the provisional registration number
and password for future reference. Email & SMS indicating the provisional registration
number & password will be sent to the candidate. Candidates can reopen the saved data using
the provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed. This
facility will be available for three times only. Once the candidate finally checks and clicks on
SUBMIT button, No change/edit will be allowed after submission.
viii. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be
completed as follows;

Once the candidate clicks on SUBMIT button, he/she will be directed to make online
payment of application fees.
The online payment can be made by using only Master/Visa Debit Card/Credit
Card/Net Banking by providing details as asked on the screen
If the online transaction has been successfully completed a Registration Number and
Password will be generated and displayed on the screen
On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt as a token of confirmation of
the application fee paid. The e-receipt has to be submitted at the time of interview.
ix. Candidates are required to take a printout of the online application using the above
registration number and password. The printout of application form is required to be
submitted at the time of interview. Do not send the application form to the Bank.
4. Call Letters:
The address of the examination centre will be mentioned in the Call Letter. Call Letters will be
available on the Banks website from December 20, 2013 to December 29, 2013.
Candidates have to download Call Letter for appearing for the examination from the Banks
website by entering their registration number and password which will be generated at the
time of applying online.
5. At the Examination Centre
Candidates are required to bring the following to the examination centre:
Print out of Call Letter (which has to be downloaded by the candidate using the
registration number and password obtained at the time of registration of online
application). A recent passport size photograph of the candidate has to be affixed on the
Call Letter.
You are required to carry with you your currently valid photo identity proof (original)
i.e. PAN Card/Passport/Driving license/Voter-ID. If you are unable to produce any
photo-identity (original), you will not be allowed to appear for the test.
Without the above mentioned documents the candidate will not be admitted for the
examination.
6. Choice of Region and Centers for examination:
a) The candidate has to choose any one Region from the list below, provided that he has
lived at any city/district in the particular Region for a minimum period of 3 years.

c) Any request for change of centre for examination/ interview shall NOT be entertained.
d) The Bank, reserves the right to cancel any of the Examination Centers and/or add some
other Centers, as per its discretion depending upon the response and administrative
feasibility.
e) The selected candidates will be posted in any of the branches which are in operation or
may be opened in the particular Region. If in a particular Region, the vacancies are less
than the number of selected candidates, then these selected candidates may be posted in
any other Region where there is a short-fall.
7. Candidates will have to appear for ONLINE examination to be conducted by the Bank through
IBPS. The successful candidates will be called for an interview. Subject to their being medically
fit for employment, the selected candidates will be initially appointed on probation. The Bank
reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason and no
correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
8. The data /information once submitted by the candidate in the online application form will be
considered as final and cannot be changed at a later stage. The application fee once paid will
NOT BE refunded on any account nor would be held in reserve for any future examination or
selection. The application fee shall also NOT BE refunded in case the application is rejected /
not considered by the Bank.
9. The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in submission of online applications or
communication. Candidates in their own interest are advised to ensure that payment through
Master/VISA Debit Card/Credit Card and Net Banking has been successfully remitted as per
above instructions and submit the online applications well before the last date.
10. Candidates are advised to ensure that they fulfill the parameters of qualifications and age as
prescribed above. Candidates, who do not fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria, may be
disqualified at any stage of the recruitment process.

11. The monthly Gross Salary for the post of Customer Service Officer in Officer Grade will be
Rs. 18,500/- approximately.
12. Syllabus for examination will comprise of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language
and General Awareness.
