Packet Tracer Tutorial # 2

Take 3 router and 3 switches

Connect switch to router with copper straight


through cable

Double click on router 0

Click on config tab

Then click to the interface through which the router is


connected with the switch.
enter IP Address, check port status on

Double click on router 1

Click on config tab

Then click to the interface through which the router is


connected with the switch.
enter IP Address, check port status on

Double click on router 2

Click on config tab

Then click to the interface through which the router is


connected with the switch.
enter IP Address, check port status on

Connect 2 PCs with each router through copper


straight through cable

Rename the PCs so that they are easy to


identify

Double Click First PC

Click On the Desktop Tab And Click IP


Configuration

Insert IP of PC but make sure it is of the same class as


its router have , Insert Default Gate Way (IP of Router)

Insert IP and Gateway of 2nd PC

Insert IP and Gateway of 3rd PC

Insert IP and Gateway of 4th PC

Insert IP and Gateway of 5th PC

Insert IP and Gateway of 6th PC

PC are configured with Router and now we have


have 3 networks

Connect Router 0 with Router 1 using Fiber Cable


fast ethernet 4/0 - fast ethernet 4/0

Connect Router 1 with Router 2 using Fiber


Cable
fast ethernet 5/0 - fast ethernet 5/0

Router Configuration

Router 0 and Router 1

Click on the the interface through which the router 0


is connected with router 1

Insert the IP and check Port status

Click on the RIP and Enter RIP addresses of


networks connected with this router

Click on the the interface through which the router 1


is connected with router 0

Insert the IP and check Port status


IP must be same as the router 0 has in fast ethernet 4/0

Click on the RIP and Enter RIP addresses of


networks connected with this router

Router 1 and Router 2

Click on the the interface through which the router 1


is connected with router 2

Insert the IP and check Port status

Click on the RIP and Enter RIP address of this new


network

Click on the the interface through which the router 1


is connected with router 2

Insert the IP and check Port status


IP must be same as the router0 has in fast ethernet 5/0

Click on the RIP and Enter RIP addresses of


networks connected with this router

Open command prompt of any PC and ping


other PC
