Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the management function. It will focus on the theory and fundamental concepts of management including
planning, organizing, leadership and control. This class will review the evolution of management thought, function and practice and will emphasize
approaches and emerging concepts.
This course is also intended to present a broad introduction to the process of management in organization and the dynamic world of
managers. After taking this course students should be able to understand and explain how managers contribute to the productivity and performance
of their organizations, what managers do and the skills they must have to achieve high levels of productivity, how managers plan, organize, direct
and control the work of others to achieve organizational goals and objectives, and some of the reasons why managers differ in their ability to produce
effective results.
Course Outcomes:
Sa katapusan ng semester, ang mga mag-aaral ay inaasahang:
1. nakatatalakay ng kalikasan, simulain, at mga estratehiyang panretorika;
2. nakagagamit ng angkop na repertwa ng wika sa pagpapahayag ng kaalaman, karanasan at saloobin;
3. nasusuri ang estilo ng mga modelong akda tungo sa malay na pagbabago ng sariling estilo sa pagsulat;
4. nakasusulat ng ibat ibang sanaysay at kontemporaryong anyo ng sulatin na nagpapahayag ng pananaw na sarili-lokal at global;
5. nakikritik ang sariling likha, gayundin ang output ng iba.
