VLSM Examination

Task 1: Subnet the Address Space. Examine the network requirements.

The addressing for the network has the following requirements:.
The 172.16.0.0/16 network must be subnetted using VLSM for all other
addresses in the network.
Cebu LAN1 (Fa0/0 interface) will require 200 host IP addresses.
Cebu LAN2 (Fa0/1 interface) will require 60 host IP addresses.
Negros LAN1 (Fa0/0 interface) will require 800 host IP addresses.
Negros LAN2 (Fa0/1 interface) will require 300 host IP addresses.
Bohol LAN will require 120 host IP addresses.
The link between Cebu to Negros and Negros to Bohol will require an IP
address at each end.
Task 2: Determine Interface Addresses.
Step 1: Assign appropriate addresses to the device interfaces.
1. Assign the first valid host address to the LAN interface on the Bohol router.
2. Assign the last valid host address in LAN network to Server-PT.
3. Negros-Bohol Point-to-point: Assign the first /30 subnet on the VLSM
calculation.
4. Negros-Cebu Point-to-point: use the next /30 subnet
5. Assign the first valid host address to the WAN interface of Bohol.
6. Assign the last valid host address to the Serial 0/0/1 interface of Negros.
7. Assign the first valid host address in the Negros LAN1 network to the LAN1
interface of Negros.
8. Assign the last valid host address in the Negros LAN1 network to PC 2.
9. Assign the first valid host address in the Negros LAN2 network to the LAN2
interface of Negros.
10.Assign the last valid host address in the Negros LAN2 network to PC 3.
11. Assign the first valid host address in the Negros/Cebu WAN link to the Serial
0/0/0 interface of Negros.
12.Assign the last valid host address in the Negr os/Cebu WAN link to the Serial
0/0/0 interface of Cebu.
13.Assign the first valid host address in the Cebu LAN1 network to the LAN1
interface of Cebu.
14.Assign the last valid host address in the Cebu LAN1 network to PC 0.
15.Assign the first valid host address in the Cebu LAN2 network to the LAN2
interface of Cebu.
16.Assign the last valid host address in the Cebu LAN2 network to PC 1.
Step 2: Document the addresses to be used in the table provided under the
Topology Diagram.
