Group Discussion (GD) is a methodology used to assess candidates' desirable personality traits and skills. Group Discussion

Explanation:
A GD is a methodology to gauge whether the
candidate has certain personality traits and/or skills
which is desirable. In this methodology, the group of
candidates is given a topic or a situation, given a few
minutes to think about the same, and then asked to
discuss the topic among themselves for around 30
minutes.
Event Structure:
1. The topic for Group Discussion will be announced
on the spot and participants would be given 10
minutes to prepare on the topic.
2. One group will contain 1 participant from each
pool, so there would be 5 Groups and 2 best
performers from each Group would be selected after
the 1st round.
3. In the 2nd round, there would be GD among 10 best
performers selected from the 1st round and ones
which performed the best in 2nd round would be the
winners.
4. The competition will be judged by a faculty
member from IME department.
Rules:
a) 5 members will participate from each pool.
b) A minimum of 2 students from y15 batch or earlier
must be a part of the team
c) Wrong facts/figures will lead to deduction of marks.
d) GD will be of 30 minutes.

Plagiarizing in any form shall not be tolerated and
the Pool risks the chance of receiving an automatic
disqualification in case the Judges deem so.
Additional rules will be told at the start of GD. All
the participants should reach the venue at time.
Rules can be changed or added at the discretion of
moderator and judges.
